Race shirt = fraud?

Wear what you want to. You participated in the event so why not wear the shirt?

Wear it.  Don't wear it.  The hoodie won't be offended.

You did your part for a team though so I'd be wearing it if I was in your bike shoes.

Hah!  Thanks.  Now that's a way to put it into perspective. 

Did the same thing, rode the bike leg of a relay team at a HIM back in April Had a great time with some great folks and finished in third place among the relay teams. I don't hesitate to wear my shirt, except now it's summer and the shirt is a long-sleeve CoolMax.

And I was only out there for 2:38, in gale-force winds!

Edit: I take it back. You can't wear the shirt until you finish your race report!

I got one as well and I was only a volunteer. But since I was as tired as those racing I wore mine yesterday during my run and no I don't care I didn't race!

Didn't you get a volunteers' shirt?  Or did they give you a racers' shirt?

It only matters how you feel. So if it makes you feel like a fraud, don't where it.

It wouldn't make me feel like a fraud. I would think about it this way; if someone in th grocery store says, "Hey, you did that race, I did it too," I can say yes, I was part of a relay team, or I was a volunteer, or I did but I collapsed during the run while pushing as hard as I could. I don't know any triathletes that wouldn't respect those efforts.

I imagine an Ironman doesn't want to ask about an Ironman finisher shirt and hear, "Nah, I bought this at a yard sale."

since I am cool, they gave me special long sleeve shirt, a racer's shirt and a volunteers' one

I got all three as well and wore the long sleeve one yesterday...must be cyber group something as I didn't run yesterday....nice shirts and hats!

Wear the shirt..I did a HIM relay I wear the shirt...if someone talks about the race with me I usually say I did a relay as not to mislead them. 

3 shirts for each volunteers.  No wonder the registration fee is so expensive.
