Subject: Naked guy in transition!

I missed this as I was in the first wave, but here's the story as told by my husband and my friend's husband.

Here's a seemingly normal picture of my friend Liane heading to T1 at the Snow Valley XTERRA this past weekend.

But wait...what's that pink area in transition?

It's naked guy!

According to the husbands, this guy came into transition and sat down on his towel and took his swim trunks off, and put a hand towel over his crotch. Of course, this didn't cover the crackage going on in back, to which an elderly lady exclaimed "Oh my!" and had to wait until her husband said "It's safe to look" before she could gaze in that direction again. The guy put on his bike shorts sitting down, and was on his way. This race was part of the XTERRA points series and is sanctioned by USAT, so I wonder if the hand towel kept him within the nudity rule.

Anyways, it was pretty funny.

HeHeHe... Very comical!

I guess this guy could use a little BT, so he would know what to wear and be fast in T1!

Wow, that would definitely get me out to T1 fast, once the guy dropped his pants. LOL

I was spectating at a local Olympic race this past weekend. A guy comes into transition, and about the same time a young woman (who I learn was his wife) comes up and stands next to me. The guy's got baggy swim trunks on under his wetsuit. He pulls out a towel, looks over at us and shrugs, then tries to drop trou while holding the towel up. He couldn't pull it off, so he just dropped the towel, bared @$$ and changed into bike shorts. Me and my buddies laugh, the wife turns red.

But there's more.

A couple of minutes later the wife returns with two other women. In front of us is a guy who seems to be faced with the same short changing issue. We find out this is the wife's uncle, and with her are his wife and sister. He as well, bares @$$, changes shorts, and takes off.

Funny stuff.

I'd rather see a naked guy in transition than deal with "Kind of odd and always naked guy at the local gym."  It never fails, no matter where I work out, there is always some guy who insists on being naked until the last possible second.  Shaves naked, does hair naked, walks around and chats to guys naked, and worst of all visits the urinal naked...dude, at least put on some frickin' shoes or flip-flops ya' nasty ba$tard.

Funny, having been a locker room attendant during high school, I know the guy your talking about, and he's usually about 70 years old.

I can one up you on that one.
This past winter I was at the YMCA and was in the shower, some naked dude pulls open the shower curtain and steps in. I turned around and asked "what the hell are you doing?" He goes, "oh I thought you were my budy". I said "no, get out".
A few minutes later I hear the shower curtain open again and he's back. I was mad now. He steps in and says "are you not Mark?" I said "NO, now get the F**K out."
a few minutes later I had just finished washing my hair and I turned around to see the dude standing there holding the shower curtain open watching me.
I came unglued....

Move to Texas, we consider that 'justifiable homicide'. You'd probably get a medal.

Or move to Vancouver, you could get married!

I was at a OLY last year where my buddy managed to get a couple of shots of two very old ladies striping down to nothing after the swim. Boobies EVERYWHERE!!! I saw a couple of pictures but missed the actual event!

This made me think of the locker room at my pool as well. Every morning that I'm there I run into the same ol' naked guy before I swim and there always a few afterwards too! I realize we're all adults but come on...towels, people. All it takes is a properly placed towel and the whole world is a better place!

And changing in transition is hilarious and crazy. But as with everyone else, I'd be moving a lot faster just to get out of the line of site!

Here in Switzerland it is very common. In T1 you would see several people naked there, especially guys. Those ones are tipically very beginners who are trying their first race.

When the race is big and there are people from abroad, there are many spectators laughing but now for me it is normal.

Note yet seen a lady naked in T1 Frown

We had one of those as well. Called him "Ugly hairy naked fat dude". He liked to shave in the shower. I still feel violated just thinking about it! Cry

Where I come from (France), women go topless on the beach. Now if it were the same here in California I'd do a lot more open water swims rather than pool swims. Ha ha!

Classic pic!

My first tri, I'm waiting for my wave to be called and I'm standing on the shore watching everyone come out of the water.  A woman gets on shore and takes her wetsuit off, she has on a white sports bra under it!  Cold water + white sports bra = quite a show for the men watching!

In the early days of triathlon this use to happen quite often, probably the reason for the 'no nudity' rule.

chiming in from TX on that one. Friday lunch is not the time to be in the Barton Springs mens locker...at least not if you are straight. On any given day, the "kind of odd" types are there, but fridays, the  "very odd and by the way, why are you sunbathing naked in a mens room?" types are there. The locker is an open air affair, with a grassy roman-bath style interior courtyard. Really quite pleasant if it werent for the naked dudes. Last Fri., one of the above was basking in his naked glory (Face up...Augh). I changed in record time and went down for a 45 min swim., hoping against hope that he would be gone when I got back...but alas no, he was knee-to-knee , still naked, in deep conversation with a 60-65 yr old guy who was dressed, talking about who does his hair and how purple is his favorite color. That's just aint right. I'm pretty open minded but take it to the bar, or get a room or whatever, but comeon!

needless to say, no HTFU that day...for me anyways

These threads are wonderful. I always wonder how much of my German cultural background has gotten lost in 20 years in the US... Apparently not as much as I thought because I still think there's nothing wrong with what the guy did. But I personally don't take it all off in public anymore.

While I personally don't go around bare a$$ed and don't particularly encourage it, when it comes right down to it, what's the big deal? There's only two types of equipment. You own one type. If you're an adult and the other type is still a big mystery, well....

I can sympathize with those of you who have issues with guys who like to go nakers around the pool.

I don't swim at a gym or anything like that.  I swim at the aquatic center of the local Boys and Girls club.  There's no locker room... just bathrooms (single use) for men and women.

I used to go in around 7:00am in my street gear, change in the bathroom, swim my laps, change back into my street gear in the bathroom, and then take off.  Not any more.  A few weeks ago, I get there around 7:00am in my street gear, go to the bathroom (where the door is slightly ajar) and open it to go change.  There stood a gent in all his glory facing the door.  He simply said, "Good morning.  I'll be out in just a bit."

They put locks on the doors for a reason.  I don't particularly look forward to being exposed to another gent's manhood at 7:00am to kick off my day (not that I look forward to it at any other time of the day... just not my thing).

So now, I get to the aquatic center at 7:00am in my trunks, go straight to my lane, swim my laps, towel off and leave.  No more Mr. Flashy Guy for me!
