THANK YOU FOR VOTING.

THE FEB CHALLENGE ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN POSTED.

PLEASE SEE THE "STICKY" NOTICE AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM.

Since we're nearing the end of January....

We've gotten some suggestions for the February Challenge. But I'm curious to know what everyone wants!

So for February, how about if we select one of these options?
- Run only
- Bike only
- Swim only
- Just like the January Challenge. You may pick to be on ONE team: bike or swim or run. And the teams compete against one another.

You may pick more than one option.

Majority vote will be the February Challenge Theme. :)

Edited to include a reply as to why I'm not organizing a "Combo Challenge" this month:

Unfortunately, my job has gotten extremely busy, and that has impacted the amount of time that I can spend organizing a challenge next month.

I would love to do a "combo challenge" in February, where people have multiple goals. HOWEVER, it takes longer to set up a combo challenge, and it also takes longer to determine the results each week.

So I'd like to hold off on "combo challenges" until my "paying job" is in less of a crisis mode.

That said, if anyone else wants to run a February Combo Challenge, please feel free to do it! I certainly don't "own" the challenges. (Not even despite my 5000 posts here! LOL) :)

Thanks for understanding, :)

Dee

how about some type of 2 sport combo.

I plan on running again, so a run challenge or another challenge like January would be my preference.

I like the any one of the three idea. I'm training for a 1/2 mary, so need the miles, but also really need to get in the pool... not sure what I'd choose. Thanks for putting it on though.

Even though I like the "you choose" format... we need to give Dee a break, and I am not insane enough to offer to coordinate.

So... given that we did swimming in December, and I am doing cycling this month, my running mojo is feeling left out...

From an injury prevention standpoint, I propose that any of the three would qualify as "running":
Running
Walking
Elliptical

wgraves7582 - 2008-01-22 2:55 PM As a newbie, how do you get involved in the Challenge? I like the combo one as well if a newbie has any say!

Once we decide on the official challenge, a new thread will be started  - all you have to do is express your interest and your goal by posting in the thread,

we'll get you assigned to a team and then let the games begin!

Yes, "Running" includes running, walking, jogging and "ellipticalizing." LOL

"Swimming" includes swimming (all strokes), drills, pulling and kicking. I guess you could even do "dog paddle" if you were so inclined. LOL

Biking includes riding a bicycle, trainers, stationary bikes, recombant bikes, and tricycles and unicycles.

I think that covers at least MOST of the options! If not, just ask. LOL

Well, thank you. And let's not forget Cat and Donto - they've run challenges, too. (Thanks Cat and Donto!)

Enjoy the basketball games! (And try not to yell at the refs TOO much. LOL)

I hear ya on the modems.

See you in.... March?

Wait, so did you vote? 'Cause I don't see any votes for SWIM. Unless you voted for repeating the Jan Challenge theme (bike or swim or run).
