You got me.  This was actually meant to be a bike 50 for Judi's 50th challenge.  I think with more cake we can get people to sign up

well, let's post bikes and cakes then  

Maybe moderator Dee can rename the thread for us and we can challenge the whole forum to ride 50 miles for my 50th birthday

I will be biking around Lake Washington with my best friend on the 14th.  It is just a smidgen over 50 miles.

I have never done a 50 mile ride before, but I figure that Judi has never turned fifty before either.

I'm in!  As I type this I am 2 hours into a trainer ride preparing for this undertaking!  We may even do an upstate group trainer ride!

Now when are you going to put the Tiara up for challenge again?

Aw, dang!  I wasn't hanging around to catch this as an orphan.  If I didn't have my son's b-ball tourney on the 14th, I would consider doing this, even if I wasn't prepared.
Does riding HAVE to be on the 14th or can 50 miles be logged over a couple of days to get the honor?

I did a solo 55 today.  My friends & I are doing the real ride next Saturday.

Tiara is not up for grabs.

Thanks, Phil.  I don't think I've ever done more than 35 or 40 solo before.  It's hard to stay motivated when the wind is killing your speed and there's noone to commiserate about it with.

It was a mental effort, once I got my mind off how slow the wind was making me go I enjoyed the ride & the day.
