cars: American Muscle vs. Highly Tuned up Imports

Big fan of REAL sports cars (not a honda).  German is the only way to go!

I am partial . I can appreciate both , but I do Love my Porsche. (997 C2S) I love older muscle cars, but new mustangs and their ilk disgust me. The kid with a civic and a 4 inch can so it sounds like a herd of West Nile Mosquitoes gets on my nerves too. It can be tasteful both ways. The Nissan Skyline GTS- R34 is every enthusiasts dream, though. It will be neat to finally see Nissan import the next genereation, as a 2008.

I had an Alfa Spider for several years.  It was a really fun car and I liked the sound of the exhaust.  It was a physical shock when I got a Chevrolet Corsica to replace it. With three kids I had to have four doors.  Now, kids are gone, I have a Mini Cooper S.  It is actually a good bit better power, cornering, and gas mileage than the Alfa.  Times have changed.

I also had a Torino fastback with a 302 and a 4 barrel a long time ago in college.  It was sort of a dad version of a muscle car.  A little bigger, a little less muscle than the young guys.

I like american muscle cars, and sports cars.  A lot of the import tuner stuff is garbage, but some of it you really have to appreciate.  (MR2, Supra, 4wd turbo's)

I just can't stand the guys that take a stock Honda, add a heavy wing and ground effects kit paired with a coffee can exhaust and drive like they are all that.  You're not.

And don't forget the NOS sticker... That is 10 extra HP right there!
