Ground Rules:

1. Not a chase scene like cops and robbers stuff.

2. Not the scene from Meaning of Life when the guy is sentenced to death for gratuitous nudity in a movie.

3. Alien/monster movies okay.

OK I'll go first-

Meatballs- When Rudy wins the cross country race.  I can just feel the heat in that scene.  It's also really quiet like running alone in the woods is.

Long Distance Runner (I think that's the title)  Michael Redgrave running for the reform school and whipping up on the prep school, and then stopping short of the finish line.  You can just see they level of exhaustion in him while he runs.  His form was a nightmare though.

Watcha got?

I like Run Fatboy Run, and Saint Ralph where the fourteen year old tries to win the Boston Marathon.

Both classics to me Laughing

But the Run up to Wallyworld is the best!

Umm... hello?

Rocky, steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, with about 1000 kids chasing after him... tough to beat that one in my book.

Killed by the filter.

OK, the movie with Johnny Knoxville and Bam, and Wee Man, and a bunch of guys doing stupid idiotic things that are painful and dangerous..... that one.

Is that some obscure indie film? I'm not familiar.

Actually, I lived in Philly for four years. Whenever I'd be near the art museum, I would imagine the offices that face the stairs, and the people who saw it every day, counting tourists doing the scene. Could be a good bet at the water cooler.

The part of that montage I would love to recreate is the part where he pulls Mick on the bike. I may make a trip to that exact site with my kids some day to do just that.

Another running scene:

The entirety of Logan's Run, Running Man, and War of the Worlds.

Yes this is good.  I thought of the Rocky scene where he goes out for his first training run myself.  For some reason that one speaks to me more.  Its the solitude of the training that sticks for me.

Chariots of fire Beach scene, but if chase scenes were allowed it would be a tie with Cary Grant in North by Northwest.
