Subject: RE: World SeriesFirst off - I really, really *hope* the Cards win. Let's make that clear.
As for a prediction: these two are so evenly matched it's very difficult to pick. The Cards have been pitching lights-out. Especially their bullpen. However, the Sox have had such clutch at-bats it's impossible to discount that. If it goes 7 games it will be the Sox. If the Cards win it will need to be in 6 or less. No team wants a game 7 in the opponent's home field.
In the "Things that don't matter" category is: who did what in past WS match-ups. It's fun to talk about but has zero bearing on the outcome of this series. For example, 2004 - the Sox were the hottest team in baseball at the time - firing on all cylinders. The Cards limped into the WS with their pitching running on fumes. This is not the case in 2013. Both teams are coming in strong this year.
Either way, I *don't* think it will be over in 4 or 5 games. It should be a great series. BTW, the Sox are my favorite AL team. Parents are from Boston - went to college in N.E.... lots of friends and family in N.E. However,... GO CARDS!!! |
