Good morning BT!!!

Getting ready for our local 4th of July 5K--for many of my new cross country runners this will be their first ever race!  So excited for them!

On tap for the day:  6:30am:  5K

After that I would love to get some trainer time in since tomorrow morning I am heading to beautiful British Columbia for the next 5 days!!! Can't wait to go 'home'!!!

Then all of the July 4th activities that are so great in a small town:  parade, park activities, BBQ and, of course, fireworks!

Have a wonderful day celebrating our country's freedom!

Watching the replay of Alpe d'Huez from last year's TdF while I'm getting ready to head out on a ride.  (No mountains here in FL).

Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th!

Update: my older daughter Sydney (14) won for the women and her little crush, Raul (14) won for the men! Fast friends! Lol! My cross country kids did great as well--one of my little freshmen ran the full 3 miles with no walk breaks--a huge feat for him. It was awesome!

That's great Kim - Congrats to your daughter and the new runners!

Subbed a spin class at a local resort this morning - 60 min

4 mile run after - legs were toast!

Good thing is we had a storm come through last night - part dust storm, part rain storm! We desperately needed the rain, and it is completely overcast today - but humid! Nice to not be baking out in the sun though!

Going over to my parents for some family festivities this afternoon!

Happy 4th everyone! A HUGE thank you to all our service men and women!

Congrats on your kids! There is a local 10K here but didn't run it as it starts with a mile straight up and mile straight down--legs aren't up to it and I've never had a good run on that course, so don't feel like paying $20 to do it. Local runners kind of have a love-hate relationship with the race--some avoid it, others never miss a year if they can help it. I've done it two or three times and that was enough!

Had lots of company for the special July 4 Master's swim instead--way more people than expected showed up so we had to share a lane with HS kids and there were at least 20 people in my lane (thank goodness today was Long Course). Basically 3600m of really hard swimming with very little rest. Was thinking about a short run later but I think I'm too tired!

Happy 4th everyone!

Four mile race (4 on the 4th)
6th overall.
Maybe 1st in AG, but I put the wrong AG on my reg form, duh.

Got beat by a guy doing run/walk.
I'd catch him. then he'd blast off.
THE WHOLE RACE!!!

knocked out a 12 mile run last night with the pup in tow...i wasn't getting out of the house without him...he sat at the door when he saw me putting on sneakers...but it was starting to get late as we were finishing and people were starting with fireworks, which he wasn't a fan of
