For the D cup ladies: suggestions for truly supportive jog bras? A technical bra that is actually designed for heavy breasts? I've been running in Champion bras and while they are comfortable, they are not very supportive.

I tried the Enell 3 years ago; I couldn't breathe in that thing. I'm 46; destroying connective tissue is an issue for me, especially as I continue to age (god willing and the crik don't rise). I've started running again and intend to get 900+ miles in this year - wear/tear needs to be minimized.

Men: Shut it. Thank you.

Update: I found this - the CW-X - at teamestrogen.com. At $65, I'd like a testimonial.  Anyone try this model?

There was actually a special on the Discovery Channel about the science of sports bras. A University performed several scientific studies on different sports bras. Their conclusion was that sports bras made out of spandex were the best for support. They say the worst thing you could do is to "compress" your breasts. I can't remember all the details, but it was very interesting. It think the study was out of Ohio State.

I actually wear 2 bras. A separator and a smasher. Works good for me. I am in the market for a new separator, so will keep an eye on this thread. Have you checked out a running store? They tend to have good bras.

I live in Pinehurst NC - there are no running stores here. When I lived in Tampa, Feet First carried a variety but mostly for < D cup. I spent a couple hours in Sports Authority trying on just about every bra they had; none were really specially made for the D cup. I think I might give that CW-X bra a try.

Hi Ladies!

I am a local TNT coach in Central Florida. The best bra I have found is the Fiona Bra by moving comfort. My ladies swear by it. The link below shows it in white but it comes in a bunch of colors.

I have bought the CWX bra in 3 different sizes/models and it doesn't ever fit right so I send it back. It isn't highly adjustable. I have 2 to send back to Team Estrogen now. The zip and the hook in the back are similar from what I have heard.

I agree the Moving Comfort Fiona Bra works great. It is highly adjustable both the back strap and the shoulder strapes. No uni-boob look either.  No bounce, dries well if you do a tri in it,  and looks pretty attractive. I'm thinking this summer I can run in the black version with shorts.

The Fiona actually looks pretty comfortable. I should probably upgrade from the sports bras I get at Target to something with more support. This looks like a good candidate and seems to get the best reviews around here.

Does it dry pretty quickly?

EDIT: apparently, I should read more closely.  Kathy already answered the drying question.  Sorry.

My running store carries that bra. They didn't have my size (38C) last time I was there. I'll have to go back. The lady at the running store recommended doubling the Target bras. She said it worked for her (34DD). I haven't tried that yet.

I heart my Fiona's...but I have to say that I get bounce no matter what.  However, the bounce is minimal in that bra compared to others.  I'm a 38D, if that gives a reference point.

As a 38D I loved my Moving Comfort. Now that I've dropped a size I'm saving money by buying a good basic underwire and adding one of the binders. That really is what the Moving Comfort is. I can't go without the underwire.

That's why I like to wear two. I started wearing two when I went back to running. Recently, I had to wear on enad boy did I feel like I was just boom boom boom all the way, even though that bra is extremely supportive.

I have several CWX bras and I LOVE THEM.  I used to have to wear 2.  I don't have the zip up models tho.  I think you can get them at roadrunnersports.com for less

I used to be a 38DD and now am a 34FF (yeah, don't ask, I have no idea how my cup size went up after losing 50 pounds...), but I wear a couple different styles from Title 9 depending on what I'm doing. They are all "Moving Comfort." My fave is the Athena bra (also called the 3 Reasons bra) -- it's synthetic so it dries well when wet. I also have the semi-cotton version of it (the Fiona maybe?) and I really like that one also. They have 3 hooks in the back with 3 closure lengths, as well as the velcro strap adjustments. The strap adjustments are a MUST for me!

I have also heard good things about the Last Resort Bra. It looks horribly hot and uncomfortable, but some ladies swear by it.

Let us know what you end up with and how you like it!

I used to be a D and found that I love love loved the maia bra by Moving Comfort. It's a double layer and individual cup support.

Wicking material too.

Good stuff, that bra. Good stuff.

If ladies are allowed to minimize the bounce, then the terrorists have won.

34DD here....hands down the Maia and Fiona by Moving Comfort. When you go back to Tampa, stock up at Sports Authority. I have 2 of each and rotate them. The straps are adjustable, which is the main reason they work well. Both have 3-clasp closures, too.

love the fiona by moving comfort also. Did a tri in it and tri shorts last year. THere was no bouncing but a lot of viewing going on - i didn't realize the pink bras were a bit see through when wet. Go with Kathy G.'s advice of wearing a black one.

Under Armour sells bras for ranges of sizes.  I bought one that was meant for medium sized chests (c, d) and it works great for me.  I wear a 36C regularly.  Pay close attention to their sizes though.  I get a medium in everything, but the medium bra was too small.  If I read the size chart I would have gotten a large.  They have a nice web site that you can use to narrow down your choices based on need.

I wear an Enell as much as I can, but if it's hot or I'm getting wet then I go with the Frog Bra from Title Nine. I really like it a lot and it is much more breathable.

I'm another Moving Comfort Fiona fan.  The Champion target bras just weren't making the cut.  She smooshes them quite well, and now I'm on the lookout for a few more because I've totally become a Fiona convert!

There isn't a problem at all if you're into breasts that go down to a woman's knees.
