Subject: I HATE goggles!
I've been having major goggle issues. I started out with Speedo Hydro goggles. Those were leaking terribly and I couldn't get them to fit in any manner to stop the leaking, so I switched to the Aqua Sphere Seal swim mask. STILL a huge leaking problem, and it hurts like crazy over the bridge of my nose. I'm sooooo done dealing with the leaking. I just want to get through my swim workout without having to stop and adjust things. Has anyone found an amazing pair of goggles that works for them?

All my goggle problems stopped when I switched over to TYR goggles - they have several styles and the seals/gaskets/whatever they're called are very soft and fit very well.

I used TYR's for a while, but had a set of them break and the store was out so I've been using Speedo Vanquisher's.  Those have worked pretty well and come with a collection of nose pieces to fit your face.

Since you are girl, maybe you have a smaller face.  I had this problem and bought kids goggles.  Have you tried them on at the store before buying them?  Put the goggles on your face, without the strap and push them to your face.  If they don't stick on your face, move onto another pair.  Sometimes this is a good indication that a pair will or will not work for you.

I wear the "swedish" style goggles, which generally means no foam. They sit inside your eye socket, and for me, they're perfectly comfortable and almost never leak. They're also about $4.00 a pair, so it's not a big deal to give them a shot. You do have to assemble though....

From what I have heard which pair to use it different for everyone.  My first couple I tried were bad then I finally found a pair.

My suggestion is go to a swim shop with several brands and without putting the band on your head push them against your eyes and see if they stick a few seconds.  If so you should be good.  Making them tighter doesn' t help either.

^^^^ I agree I have a pair of Speedo Bajas right now and they work great for me.  First pair of googles I have ever owned that did not leak or hurt my eyes.

I've never had a good experience with Speedos. TYR gave me really good suction AND piercing headache - I had to take them off in the middle of a one mile OWS race, they were that bad.

Then I discovered Dolfin goggles. I LOVE them. They fit smaller faces.

I think I'm going to order a couple because they are kind of hard to find. Thanks for reminding me!

I second the fitting comments.

Goggles with foam seals never do well with me, so I stick with the silicone ones.

I always crack open each pair of goggles, stick 'em to my eyes (without the strap) and look down at the floor. If both half stick to my eyes for more than five seconds, I've found a winner.

I just got these TYR Nests and love 'em so far (even though I've only swam in them twice.

TYR makes a slightly more comfortable version of these with a small gasket called the Socket Rocket and I love them. I find the swedish ones hurt my eyes after more than 30 minutes.

I currently use Tyr and have never had a problem with them.....all of the Speedo ones I have used have leaked and/or fallen apart for some reason. I am actually looking to try out the Aquaseal Eagle (?) with the corrective lenses to see if they make a difference with spotting. I think it all depends on your face shape and finding a set that works for you. I have sat in a Sports Authority for an hour trying on different goggles because I want to make sure that they fit well before plopping down the money. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes actually taking them to the pool to find out if they really work or not.

Speedo Vanquisher are the best I've found. Try several different brands/models until you find what works for you.

I went through 4 pairs until I found some that worked.  They turned out to be the cheapest of the lot too.  Obviously the lesson from all the posts above is:  keeping trying until you find a pair that works.  You'll probably find one eventually.

Another vote for TYR. Very comfortable, no leakage, no fogging, and they're optical goggles so I can see! All for just $20 at Amazon.

Previously used Speedo's and hated them.

I bought the Vanquishers because they were the only kind Dick's was selling and, though I've never owned another pair as I'm new to all of these sports, I've been really impressed.

A couple days ago, however, my right side started leaking.  BUT - my left eye was swollen from a bee sting the day before so my face technically wasn't even.    Hopefully that was the issue.

What kind of goggles have you been using?  Are they the ones with the adjustable strap (I think they're uncomfortable and don't fit against the face so well)?  I like the one-piece ones myself-I think they are softer.  I've used the Speedo Hydrosphere or some version of whatever they are since my high school swim days.  If you have no luck at Sports Authority etc., find your nearest swim shop (contact your local Y swim team coach if you need to find a shop)-they should be able to give you some assistance.

a CTRL+F tells me that I'm the only one who wears Nike goggles. Got them at Dick's Sporting Goods for like $12 and they've served me well for over a year now. As long as I spit in them before each workout everything seals up fine and holds onto my head nice and tightly.

I use speedo's as well.  I think I have tried almost every brand and style out there.  I spent more time trying to find goggles than I have actually been in the water wearing them !!!
