The local paper printed a story on me this morning:

http://kennebecjournal.mainetoday.com/sports/stories/5290161.html

They messed up a few details, like the fact that I train each discipline 4 times a week (it says I train 4 times a week), but the story came out ok overall.  During the interview I tried to play down the expense part, and told the reporter that you can spend thousands of dollars, but you can also get started in the sport relatively cheaply, but he left out that part.

Gotta love the local paper - in the print version I'm on the top of the front page of the sports section, over the olympics and the Red Sox .

Very cool - and at least they quoted you as saying that you train 18-20 hours a week, so that the 4-days a week mistake is less misleading.

Yeah, apparently most of my training sessions are 4-5 hours long.

Congrats Rob. Nice article. Great quote:

"The first (ironman) is just about finishing it," Riley said. "The second time out, it's about finishing well."

I'll see what I can do

I read the article before the rest of your comments and was wondering how you did so well only training 4 days a week!

Nice article Rob, congratulations!!!

Nice article!  Glad to see you get local press coverage.  I like the local stories way better than the national and international news.
