My second (sprint) tri is this Saturday; Boiling Springs Triathlon-900 yards in a 50 yard outdoor spring-fed pool, 15 mile ride w/some mild hills, and 3 mile run. Am psyched because this is a rather low key event, limited to 40 entrants and I just came home from doing 1000 yards in that pool, to keep loose prior to the event, and did that distance in 23 minutes.

Hoping to put up a solid time, but body is really achey for some reason.  Still gonna push it on Sunday though!

I could actually finish in the top 3 for my age group-there's only 3 of us registered

I signed up for a race once and was the only person in my age group, 45-49. The day of the race they awarded 1 place in the 40-49 age group. I finsihed 5th overall and didn't get an award.

Pleasant Prairie Sprint Triathlon

Did 1:16:xx at Spirit of Racine a few weeks ago in frigid cold water (56F), wet roads (rain was done) and a few hills on the run.

Shooting for sub 1:12:00 and hopefully a podium as the water is going to be super warm (possibly wet suit optional), no rain in sight (I hope I didn't jinx myself) and a run that has all of about 5 ft elevation gain.

I'm in for putting myself through a world of hurt Sunday.  Heaven help whomever is removing my chip.  I might just hurl.

Good luck everyone.  Remember, race your race.

BEEN WAITING ALL WEEK FOR THIS THREAD!!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! Greenville Sprint Triathlon, Greenville, SC. This will be my 1st Tri.

400meter pool swim, 15 mile bike ride, 5K run and a Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburger to follow.

Talk about recovery food. 1300 calories of cheesy goodness. I haven't eaten there in 6 months. I don't miss it at all but it is a tasty burger.

I will be racing again on August 30th at another sprint.

I'm doing a Peaman event (a monthly biathlon (swim/run we have here). This Sunday we are doing a quarter mile ocean swim and 3 mile run in honor of one of our locals who is battling cancer. No times or places just for fun.
