Subject: RE: How to get sand off feet quickly in T1I tried the water bottle and perhaps I just didn't practice enough, but I found for me it took way longer than I wanted.
Yesterday at my race I employed a water pan. I'm not talking a bucket, but a tupperware-style container that is literally exactly the length and width of my foot. Filled with about 2 inches of water. Get to transition, dip foot, place on towel. Dip other foot, place on towel. Continue with transition as normal.
At a half ironman earlier this year, I did the same thing. Before the race, I accidentally spilled my own water pan, but there was so little water in it, it just trickeled into my own stuff and no one elses. You don't need a foot or two of water, just a few inches.
Not everyone is comfortable racing with sandy feet, but you can still keep it relatively simple with a small water pan. |
