Happiness is only real when shared

Steve- - 2008-09-08 3:17 PM Don't know if u guys saw the movie "into the wild" but you should. He comes to the realization that happiness is only real when shared. Sssoooo....I'm sharing this and someone please pinch me so I know I'm not dreaming. As u guys know well, I've been on a quest to complete 2 ironmans in a week. Mission accomplished. What is truly amazing to me and firmly places me on cloud 9 today is not the fact that I completed them but that I did it in PR fashion... crushing my PR from and easier course (IMAZ 06) by over 1 hour and finishing in 11:38 for a daylight finish at IMWI. I still can't believe I did it. I am so freggin' happy I can't contain myself. When I saw what was possible at mile 10 and a fellow racer ask me how I was feeling I said "I feel unbelievably amazing" and he had a confused look ok his face and kept on going...but that's how I felt...I didn't want to lie. So I'm sharing my elation from Cloud 9 because its true that happiness is not real unless shared. Thx for listening, I'll be on this cloud all week I suspect, the view is amazing up here. Ha ha ha.

WOW!!!  YOU ARE QUITE THE IRONMAN!!!  Congratulations!  I have a feeling I may have "seen" you, but not put your face with your avatar.  GREAT JOB!!

Great job, Steve!  I am really proud of what you accomplished.  I hope to share in that IM finish happiness again in the future..but twice in a week?  No thanks for me!  I doubt I could convince BP to come back and coach me to another single IM, much less two in a row. 

Glad you accomplished this goal for a great cause and with such awesome times...lots to be proud of, my friend.

I think IMs can be a magical place for many of us...our goals and dreams are different but it can be amazing for many of us.

Steve, I screamed your name at the top of my lungs... at first I was just reading your bib... but then I realized I knew you... and started screaming even louder, because you were headed for an awesome finish! I told Chris you had finished and he raced down to the line to chat with you....

Congratulations on an awesome race for an awesome cause!!! 

Well done Steve. You should be very proud of your accomplishment. Thanks for looking down on us and sharing from your cloud.

BTW, I just watched Into the Wild for the first time last night.

Congratulations on such an amazing accomplishment. You should be on cloud 9, and you should stay up there for more than a week !

You deserve to be on cloud 9, what an amazing accomplishment. I was so disappointed I missed your finish, but so thrilled you finished before I managed to make it out there to watch. You have really amazed me with what you've been able to do. It's really inspiring.

Dude - That is so freakin' unbelievable.  That is going way above and beyond.  I read the Madison Journal the day after.  In the interview with Hillary she said that she knew she was going to get her first win at Madison this week.  She said she knew b/c whenever she does back to back Ironmans (she has done the trick before I guess), she feels so much better the second week.  She said its kind of freakish.  I guess you and her are on the same cloud - freak boy

Of course, it could be the cool people you train with.  I know one guy in particular you ride with that just demoralizes people
