If I do IMC I can do cyclocross next fall afterwards. If I do IMFL no cyclocross unless I'm a big risk taker..lots of tumbles.

go for it Kathy...IMCA going online is very unusual and i for one took advantage of it because for me it's one of those ironman i dream about and want to check off my long list..who knows, next year it could be back to sell out on site again.

Too close to IM Moo for me.  Dang.  Plus, I don't know if this Yankee can handle all those Metric conversions.

YEA KATHY!  We will have a bigger BT group for 09!!!

BTW all - the Ramada is a GREAT place to stay.....nice rooms and nice place. Food on site.  stayed there this year to sign up and be a supporter.  Call them direct, my friend reserved yesterday.

Houses are a bit harder to find, especially now....too early......but you can find them.

FYI , anybody who has a hard time finding lodging should maybe put a add in the local pencticton paper. That is what i did and got lots of emails back with very competitive prices ( as low as 600$ for the week!! and that was for 2 couples total!!) My add cost 20$ and can be done online. I have 4 offers right now to choose from.

Maybe next year I'll get a big 'ol ballon with BT on it and we can ALL get together for the dinner / swim / hot tub party! It would be nice to meet / touch shake hands with even more BT'ers than this year! Good luck with all of your training people!

I got in today also. Amazing, now I have to decide whether to do IM MOO also. I just went down to Madison last week to get a spot for Wisconsin.

I am a bit concerned about lodging in Penticton. I may do what an earlier person posted about posting in a local paper. I hadn't thought about that. My brief search today for hotesl yielded absolutely nothing......

Anyone with a room, looking to split some costs ???

See you all in Penticton !!!!

I like the idea of ad in the paper.

I'm not sure when I'd place the ad..maybe in the spring? I'm not sure I want to handle that now.

Those of you flying from US...

If you fly into the US, can you rent a car/vehicle and drive it into Canada?

We are going to try to use frequent flier miles for 4 of our tickets.

11 folks from MA, 4 from RI, and 11 from CT are also registered.

For accommodations, get something so that you're covered but if it's not your first choice then keep your eyes open next summer. We had a room at a motel down towards the south end of town for the last couple of years but it was less than ideal for my wife. This year, just over a month from race day, I lucked into a spot right up close to the action. We were right by some of those nice folks from RI. As the race gets close, some people have to bail out and cancel their rooms.

A few years ago, before I was into triathlons, my brother-in-law rolled into Penticton with his family on vacation the day before the race with no idea what was going on. He got a room in the big hotel there, with a balcony looking down on the swim course, and because it was a last minute booking I believe he only paid the regular room rates.

Edit: as I recall, the people from RI flew into Spokane (maybe it was Seattle?) and rented an SUV there.

done Daryl. I send you 3 of them. I'm also getting lots of calls with folks wanted to rent out for the Ironman. I never would have thought this little would generate so much interest. Kind of surprised. I got my place so anybody else having problems let me know.
