Subject: Correlation of cold weather running speed to warm weather running speed?I was out on a long run yesterday, with a the MI BT crew. It was a typical winter day for us, About 15 degrees Fahrenheit, a little wind, and a little snow on the trail. Someone suggested that the cold temps slow you down, as compared to running in warmer summertime temps. Now I've always assumed that winter speeds are slower than summer because of extra clothing and more slippery conditions. So, my question is, is there a reason that colder weather makes you run slower because of the temp? I'd love some data or links to go behind it. Thanks.
