Me too.  I went to Outback last night and ordered one.  Everybody I was with thought it was odd, guess I'm not surprised.  I was craving one after I smelled somebody grilling on my run.

Why do they call it a hamburger if it's made with beef?

Had hamburgers tonight... craving a "LUTHER" burger... BAAAD!!!!

Edit - Just rememberd ... when my youngest son who is now 14 was maybe 3 he heard the waitress in a resturaunt ask a customer what they liked, and before they answered he shouted as loud as possible... "I LIKE APPLES" the whole place exploded in laughter. Had to share.

Sometimes there is nothing better!  Off the grill with a big fat slice of cheddar, strip of green chile, and onion.  That's my kind of burger!  Of course, there is always a dark ale on the side.

Always thought because it comes from Hamburg Germany.

I've been going with Bison meat... higher in omega 3s, lower in saturated fat, higher in protein, tastes the same.  Add balsamic glazed onions and aged cheddar and, of course, a cold beer... orgasmic.

BTW, hamburgers were invented in New Haven, CT, my home town, where we also have the best pizza in the world.

When I worked at Sunset Grill in Honolulu (now closed ) I used to get the 1/2 lb flame grilled burger with bleu cheese, bacon, and their fantastic bbq sauce, then the greens & 'maters, n' pickles of course....

who doesn't?

But I will NOT order one in a restaurant that will not take temperature preferences.   If  I try to order a burger MR and the waitstaff says they only bring them well, I change my order to a salad.  If they cannot deliver that without worry of food posioning, then I figure their kitchen is dirty.

Ah, Nick Tahoe's.  I visited that place with friends at 1 AM in my college days, and it was quite a wild scene.

And this thread caused me to have a hamburger for dinner last night.

I'm a big hamburger girl, too.  I had a Sonic Burger for the first time recently and I could not believe the flavorful zing that thing packed!  I looked at what was on it while I ate it and it just looked like your typical condiments, but however they put those ingredients together was magical.

When I break through to the skinny side of the other side Clydesdale line, I am immediately going to get a big ol' gross burger at a place like this http://www.dennysbeerbarrelpub.com/ and jump right back over the 200 mark.

But I'm only doing this stunt once, so I don't yo-yo back and forth across.  (Now I'm a Clyde, now I'm not, now I'm a Clyde)

A GREAT chain burger (and fries are awesome!) is at Five Guys. I think the chain started in MD and DC area. We just got one. Inexpensive, quality, clean, good service. I LOF it!

Yup, it's from around here. I effin' LOVE Five Guys burgers and fries. Their grilled cheese is good too, esp. piled with all sorts of veggies.

We also have a little local place here called Elevation Burger that uses organic beef and olive oil for their fries. They are super-tasty and I like supporting the local business, as the shop employs a lot of the kids from my church. They are looking to open more locations in the area, so that will be nice; though the original location is right near me, so I can't complain

Champps (a chain I believe) has a huge pepperjack cheeseburger that I love.  A local chain Brewbachers also has great burgers.

In So. Calif (where I grew up), Tommy's chilli cheeseburgers are classics!
