I just had pizza today. NY has the best pizza in the US (THAT'S RIGHT!!).

The best way for me to keep to my food consumption under control is to let one meal every seven days go with whatever I want (it's like a treat for doing good). If I mess up, I start the 7 day countdown from there (I've messed up only once since I started back in January/05). I think next week it's going to be the biggest banana split I can get my hands on. 7 days to go...

What's your indulgence?

For a while it was ice cream. I had a rule that I could only have one serving of ice cream if I did a run that day. No carrying it over to the next day. No having ice cream before a run. It had to be post-run on the same day. Then, I added that it had to be a run of 3+ miles.

But I find myself waning a bit from the ice cream.

I also had a rule that I could only have one of the most wonderful blueberry scones from the coffee shop down the street from my work after having done a hard bike trainer workout that same morning. But... we're moving our offices, so I'll be giving those up now too.

I almost never have "fast food" but sometimes after a hard race I find myself at Carl's Jr (aka Hardee's) for one of those wicked Western Bacon Cheese things.

I NEED to set up some sort of *rule* to apply to these evil evil Triple Ginger Cookies from Trader Joe's. They're terribly sinful and I can't seem to regulate my intake of them.

Ice Cream! Blue Bell Rocky Road is my first choice, but I'd eat salmon and dill pickle ice cream if you put it in front of me.

Blue Bell! Mmmmm.... I have to settle for Bryer's as it's the only one at my local shop that's not full of that nasty "partially hydrogenated..." stuff. Or I wind up with one of those Ben & Jerry things that I can't restrain myself with.

And then there's Marble Slab/Coldstone's. Oy!

Kettle chips. I ate some today. The crunch is just killer.

p.s. My homemade pizza is the best.

My motto is "Everything in moderation!" I can't restrict myself to things once a week or not at all. I have a weakness for sweets - cookies especially lately (and recently of the Girl Scout variety)...however I try to limit myself in the quantity dept. But what that limit is fluctuates day to day.

Besides, triathlon training lets you eat whatever you want!!!!

Dairy Queen blizzards (oreo) are insanely good. But they also have about 1,000 calories in a SMALL. That kinds puts things in perspective. And, since I work at a public relations firm representing Dairy Queen- I see press releases of new products all the time (Caramel MooLatte, blizzards, etc)!!! Not fair!

My homemade pizza is the best.

I'd have to do a taste test to comment on that.

depends on my mood. here are the main two:

+ ice cream & peanut butter: usually either ben and jerry's chubby hubby (330 calories in a serving) or a small reeses peanut butter cup blizzard (600 calories in a small!)

+ mexican food: bring me a huge margarita, a couple baskets of salty chips, and a bean burrito smothered in cheese! no fast food here, mostly local la cucaracha or rio bravo.

great. its a 1700 calorie rest day, and you have me thinking about about 3400 calories worth of food!

Cookies and ice cream.  Yum

I do pretty well avoiding the ice cream because I just don't buy it, but my hubby insists on having cookies around the house and I just can't resist.  Which isn't a bad thing in moderation, but becomes a bad thing when I'm running late for work and think a handful of cookies sounds like a nice breakfast - ack!

Well, I didn't want to be the first to admit to fast food...

Thanks Whiz!

I love it to. really all fastfood.. When I was younger I used to ask my dad to take me to McDonalds and his reply was always.. "They don't have food there." hehe

My father-in-law calls McD's food.. "Fried Fat"

I like em all though.. Wendy's McD's, Back Yard Burger... name it..

I used to cry in the backseat of my parents Buick begging to go to McDonalds for dinner. BEGGING... I don't know why I love it so... It is fried fat... but in moderation, I suppose everything is OK...

I love Wendy's Burger King, too etc etc... but no place has a spot in my heart like those golden arches. My husband teases me and says I should get them tattooed on me. I'd almost consider it... if I weren't saving myself for the M-DOT Ironman Logo.

Yep.... it's ice cream for me too.  Any kind of high quality ice cream.  There's a home made ice cream stand  about a half a mile off from the bike path I train on.  It takes a lot of will power to not stop for a double scoop.

Mmm. Pizza.

I head off to my local Indian or Thai food eatery when it's time to be less than stellar on the nutrition. Beer is my real indulgence. Two or 3 pints of draught Guinness or a good German beer on a rest night. It's better if it's with pizza, of course, but usually it's all by itself.

Now I'm hungry. :P

Chips. I love chips. Especially Boulder Chips - Salt and Vinegar flavor. But I also love Ruffles cheddar and sour cream.

Red wine. I love good wine. I don't drink to drunkeness, but I love a glass in the evenings.

Need to edit - I actually try not to restrict much, just keep it all in moderation. If I tell myself I "can't" have something it will be on my mind and I'll just obsess.

Bourbon and coke...

I love Hardees Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuits, but never get them because Hardeees are almost all gone from Atlanta's city limit.  However, I came upon it's sister rest. in Hawaii, Carl's Jr, is it they don't have biscuits in Hawaii or at Carl's Jr.?  I was mortified.

MMMMMMM...Pizza Hut Dippin Strips Pizza with Buffalo and Ranch Sauces mixed together. It came to the door Saturday night (my first since starting training in early March 05) and it seemed to literally be shining like an angel with a halo as it came out of the delivery case!!! I said to myself that i would only have 6 or 7 strips (bout a third of the whole) and same the rest for my roommate. Of course an hour later it was all gone and i gluttonously (is that even a word?) sat in my lazy boy satisfied and strangely saddened by the destruction of my beautiful meal!!!!

I felt I had earned it after shaving 1m16sec off of my 5k time earlier in the day!!!

Of course my body has become used to all of this healthy crap (I think that pizza is the molecular opposite of fruits and veggies) and there was some unpleasantness later in the evening...but it was well worth it for that 1 hour!!!

Back to the bike this morning BIATCH!!!!!

Almost anything taht involves lots of chocolate.

I'm especially fond of dark chocolate which is good since it's better for you then milk chocolate.
