Sorry to hear about this - but it sounds like he got care immediately and although it may have been a major event, full recovery is possible with the right intervention and the right patient! He sounds like a fighter. Good luck.

Hang in there my Dad had a AVM bleed a few years back very much like a stroke (bleeding in the brain)  Things got much worse over the first few days to the point he could not speak at all or even get up.  After a few days in the nuro ICU he went to about 30 days of PT and progressed very well he lives alone Mom died many years ago but he was able to care for himself with just a daily nurse visit when he went home.  After a few months he was nearly fully recoverd I put him at 90% some time he has a hard time putting thoughts to words but other than that he is able to take care of himself.  So dont get down don't let him hear you getting down, go see him and reassure him he can recover.  PM me if you would like any more info and prayers are being said.
