Regular![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() glad to be married to my wife. I can't stand this annoying woman. I don't condone the guy for what appears to be cheating on his wife, but I certainly understand his desire to get away from her. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() She makes me sad for her kids. I can't believe I bought the hype and just watched that crap (I was on the treadmill at the gym). It was the first time this season, although I have watched bits and pieces of episodes from when the sextuplets were babies. "The show must go on." Make me effing vomit. You are getting a divorce in front of the world and you decide to continue to subject your children to the scrutiny of a reality television show? "I know lots of other families in America are going through the same thing and hopefully this will give them something to relate to." I smell another book, Kate! And "I very boldly stated that I will always spend every holiday with my kids" - you just filed for divorce today! Maybe you should give yourself some time before you start with the ridiculous custody demands. I feel very lucky to have the family that I do. |

Yes, my 18 year old (who has a pretty snarky sense of humor) wanted to know if that included holidays like Arbor Day, or Flag Day. For someone who claims that her life revolves around her kids, she certainly seems to be self-centered. |

Here's what gets me. John and Kate cite communication as their big problem. She wants him to talk to her; he won't. Yet, they say "we'll do anything for the kids." Oh yeah? OK. How about a conversation? Some counseling? Talk to your pastor? Here's what also gets me: no acknowledgment that this lifestyle they chose--namely, putting themselves out there for the world to gawk at--had anything to do with their marital problems. For Jeebus' sake...take some responsibility for your actions. Also...complaining about the paparazzi? Cry me a freaking river, pal. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() They act like this just happened to them and they didn't do anything to encourage it. And as for their contract, they have always said there is a clause that let's them stop whenever they want which I think makes them appear even more selfish since they have not stopped. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have caught a few shows early, just flipping through not in entirity but was intrigued with all the kids and how they handed it. Then with all the other stuff going on lately and reading this thread I tuned into a couple more recent episodes. Then last night I attempted to watch a few minutes of the latest one. I caught a few moments when they were trying to get the kids play houses put in. one thing that struck me was the way the two older girls acted - they made some comments and gestures they most certainly picked up from their mother. - Which is very scarey. Not putting blame on her for this thing........but man she is a nag, but its possible the other brings her to nagging. |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I've never watched the show but I couldn't resist rubbernecking at the train wreck last night. One thing that struck me was the condescending manner in which she kept using the phrase "MY kids." She seemed completely unwilling to acknowledge her husband's existence in the matter. |

It will be interesting but certainly likely there won't be any child support. Kate makes a lot more money than Jon does with her book and speaking engagements. I read somewhere they each made $100K per episode at least the recent ones. I wonder how much the kids got paid. |

I read somewhere they each made $100K per episode at least the recent ones. I wonder how much the kids got paid. From what I've read, the house is in the kids' names. Beyond that, I'm guessing a good chunk of change is being put in trust for them. |

Expert![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() In the short window of the show that is presented, never did they acknowledge wanting to save their marriage or seeking help for it. It was doomed. Jon is screwed, he just wants to relive his college days. Guaranteed he becomes a alcoholic or drug addict in a year! Unforunately, I feel the Pennsylvania Child Services will be called many times because Kate will be an absent parent with all her appearances. If they were really doing this for the kids, they would have shut down the show immediately. Plus how many more friggin' metaphors could they use during the show? |

![]() | ![]() TeddieMao - 2009-06-23 10:00 AM Plus how many more friggin' metaphors could they use during the show? ^^I agree completely. How many times can Kate ask herself a question and then answer it? "Do I wish things had gone better? Yes. Do I wish John would just go back to being my whipping mule? Yes." I noticed how John said "I wonder what would've happened had we gotten to next year when the little kids are in school?" I wonder that too. I bet they could've made it if they could just get the kids out of the house for a few hours a day and get some sanity. But I think Kate has gotten worse since the show started about pushing John around. He's still an idiot for letting it get to that point though. Oh well, That's how it goes. 50% of all marriages right? |

Champion![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() While I blame Kate for the ongoing b!itchiness that started their issues, Jon is a child himself. I totally agree that if they were really concerned for the kids, they would have tried counseling. They just plain gave up. Jon actually said "I'm only 32, I have a whole life ahead of me." What, now that you've given up on your family? Sorry it didn't turn out how you liked, Jon, should have thought of that. I actually mostly blame him. Kate was probably a b!tch from day one. He shouldn't have married her or had those kids, but when he did he should have found a way to make it work. I am not a fan of parents staying married just for the kids, because that causes bad tension too. But I think people give up WAY too easily. So, now they are going to have a place for Jon to live, for Kate to live, and the "kid's house." I hope they don't get their schedules messed up some weekend and we find the kids alone, Jon skiing in Utah, and Kate off at a spa somewhere... |
