  It's too bad that the circumstances weren't different somehow, like timing or whatever, so that this would not have happened.  I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  I hope that you are okay.

It looks like the article started-in about drinking and driving.  Hopefully something good will come of this and someone out there who reads the article will not mix drinking and driving.

This kind of senseless act drives me nuts.  The driver will probably get away with it by pleading the "I did not see him" defence.  And his lawyer will easily brush aside any DUI charge on the grounds that he was not informed of his rights in Swahili or something just as inane.
