With IMLP coming up this weekend, we will get to see the results of the new(ish) policy of paying at signup AND the effect of the economy on the sport. So, will it sellout on site again this year or will it go online?

There are no more volunteer slots, according to the IMLP website.  So a lot of people may be coming up just to volunteer to get first dibs on a slot.  What a great system they've got going...

I've already made plans to pony up the bucks for a community fund slot but if I can get in online that would be great.  Not holding my breath though.

What time does it go online?  Noon, right?

That's 1 am here, a long time to wait and see if it goes online or not.

Maybe we should start a IMLP 2010 Online Registration Support Group Thread.  Someone will have to come up with a shorter title though

I gambled last year and lost out when it sold out on site.

Given the economy, and given the fact that you now have to pay right then and there during on site registration (I believe IMLP last year was the last M-dot race where got a voucher and did not have to make a final decision until a few weeks later), I predict that we will not have a repeat of last year.

CdA hasn't sold out within a day in a few years, I believe.  IMLP has either sold out on-site (last year was the first time) or within minutes/hours since at least July 2005 I believe.  If any slots go online, I think that will sell out without an hour, if not minutes.

If you want to get a slot online, try getting on active.com a bit early and also check slowtwitch as Mike Reilly has been known to post updates there on Monday morning (IMvoice is his user id there I believe).

CDA has always taken time to sell out, IMUSA has always been lightening quick...

PennState - 2009-07-25 1:35 PM I can tell you today that a LOT of people signed-up for IMLP 2010 today (athletes get to register a day before).
I was surprised how big a line it was. I have no real idea of whether it will sell out on site, but apparently them had to tun away volunteers due to immense interest.

My guess... sells out on site, but the last time I said this about a race (IMKY) I was dead wrong.

So did you sign up?

x2 I aggree the line was huge this year. Bigger than last year They are saying that volunteers are not guaranteed a spot. Hopefully that is not the case.

I say it sells out on-site again this year. However, that is OK with me because I already got my spot for 2010!

I heard that tons of athletes registered yesterday. I also heard that they turned away volunteers (not sure if that's true or rumor, but I'd bet a lot of them were looking to get a spot Monday morning).

IMWI sold out in about 20 minutes. I was watching that one and wondering if I should short circuit my plan.

IMUSA is coming up on an hour open and it's still open. Wow.
