Comments: My very first crit...what a blast. The race consisted of cat. 1-4 women. Talk about a wide range of levels. There was a total of 9 women: 2 cat. 2's, 1 cat. 3 and the rest were 4's, like me. I lost the pack after the very first turn...had the hardest time clipping in. Need to practice. :) You think by now I'd get it the first try. I caught back up to the back of the pack and three of the last riders couldn't hang on so we worked together but kept loosing time on the main pack. Halfway through the race when it was my turn to pull, I picked up the pace and that's when the girls lost me. So for half of the race I was a minute behind the front pack and the girls in the back were 30 seconds behind me. Talk about a lonelyl race, just me stuck between packs. What would you do differently?: clip in the freakin' peddle the first time. Post race
Warm down: a couple lap cool down, drank gatorade and had a hamburger and salad. What limited your ability to perform faster: loosing the front pack. Event comments: I came in 6th and got $55 in prize money, not bad. Why don't triathlons give out more money?! This was a great race to be my first crit. :) Last updated: 2005-05-28 12:00 AM

Rode for 20 minutes with some other women cat. 4's. Two of the three girls were triathletes... pretty cool. :)
