Subject: What inspired your avatar?
I noticed that the avatars seem to fall into a few camps - people showing themselves in some run/bike form; something real that represents them (kids, my license plate), and cartoons.  I'm probably leaving something out.  I picked my current avatar because my license plate and my nickname are indeed one and the same.  (When I drive around town in my bright yellow Xterra, with all the gear and travel stickers on the side windows, I'm pretty un-miss-able). I got the nickname from a buddy years ago who was amazed at the collection of stuff I had (and this was before I started SCUBA diving and kayaking, so you can imagine the growth my gear collection has had since then!)

What about you?  What is the inspiration for your representation?

I'm a HUGE UConn women's basketball fan.  The gnome says UConn on it (our local public television station calls it a "Genome", which is a play on the coach's name, Geno Auriemma), but it's a bit too small to read it.

Had a plan at one time to start a website to help raise money for my local children's hospital Hematology/Oncology Clinic, spread awareness for the 5 + clinic that i'm apart of, and wanted to have a fun symbol and try and raise awareness and keep me inspired to do bigger and better triathlons. Actually super imposed from a photo shoot I did for the hospital. My company downsized and threw me on a later shift and have been working a ton of hrs, so after that unfortunately went to the back burner. Kinda liked it and Triathlon related so I kept it for my avatar here.

Mine get changed from time to time.  The current one is a shot taken coming out of the lake on a race last summer where I had my best ever OWS. ( and screamed that fact all the way through T1)

And we shall repeat this season!  GO UCONN!

Mine was taken at Timberman HIM by a Slugger.  Just liked the picture.

Today (Remembrance Day Poppy)- lot's of veterans.  Normally it's a photo of myself so that others can visualize who's posting.  Some BT members have recognized me at races.

<<< me in 2002, 3/4 of the way up Mt. Ventoux in Provence. Cycling is my favourite thing to do, er, second favourite, France is my favourite place to go, and Ventoux is the TDF's most challenging climb (say most riders).

So this is a fuzzy pic of one of my biggest thrills.

One of the few EVER race pictures that shows me riding out on the course, tucked, at speed. Most show the first few yards of the ride, standing up on the pedals.

I had an awful, awful race at the end of last year, but at least I liked some of the pictures that came out of it. Figured I'd use one of them as an avatar. It has the benefit of reminding me every time I post that I don't ever want to do another race in the tropics in summer.

Simple...I like beer. This one is of me enjoying a Guinness outside a pub in Windsor. Used to have a southpark character that closely resembled the new one.

This is from my very first tri - a super sprint.  I have a group of female friends and in July we all went on a cruise together (24 of us), we all had pink boas.  I wore the boa and took a pic to let them know they were all with me, inspiring me every step of the way.  I did NOT wear the boa during the race!

I've switched a few times but this one is from Redman, 140.6.  Should have been a better shot as I really did have a pretty good kick finishing.  Too bad they snaped the camera just as I put the breaks on.
