As I seem to be spending more and more time there - I would be very interested in seeing how others have their trainer/treadmill set up. Mine is in the basement in the corner next to the fuse box (to support the electrical draw of the treadmill). I have a bookcase between the trainer and the treadmill to put water, snacks and the laptop on...my view is of the incredibly untidy basement - which makes me think EVERY time I'm down there that I need to clean it up. What does yours look like?

My workout room is just off the front door. It's still a work in progress, but right now it's functional.

My gym and swim bags I keep by the door so that they are easy to grab & go:

The closet has all the cycling gear and tools:

I need to re-texture the room and paint it, then put carpet tiles down. We are also planning on knocking out the window and turning it into a french door so that the bikes can easily wheel in and out of this room. The projects seem to never end!

OMG, you are WAY too organized. The camelbacks kill me. Mine hangs on a bike hook in the garage after MTB season ends in October...until it begins again in July. And it's usually full. Which means grossness. :D

lol. This is a great thread!

If it gets too hot (or too boring) I can always jump out the window. I'm about three inches away from the TV...it's a little cramped, but then again, it's not like I'm trying to get comfortable while I'm on the drainer...

This is a brilliant thread! I don't have any pics, so you'll have to imagine: My husband and I relocated cities and moved in with my brother, whose empire of 'stuff' fills every available surface. So, we moved 2 households into 1 house and then tried to fit the 12 bikes owned by all of us into the garage. Along with my motorcycle, my brother's race car, all of our furniture, several years of other stored stuff....

So, there is a bike on a trainer in the lounge, one in the dining room, and for a time there was one cramped into our bedroom, between the bed and the bookshelf. And, sometimes there's a bmx startgate in the living room....

I said I wanted a treadmill, and was told we have nowhere to put it.....

Yup, actually it's a box on each side. 2X4 squares with the 4" side up and down and then 3/4" plywood on top. Sturdy as all get out and it gives me street level to get on the bike with rather than having the bike 6" higher than normal. I've got two 2X4s running underneath at the front and the back so nothing moves in relation to each other. Just make sure to leave 1/2" or so space between the side of the rollers and the box so you can change out the roller belt and such.

Looks like you have some  ''gallery-wall ''  space there just begging for personalized motivational art, and from your avatar pic, it would appear that you have some budding artists to take care of that for you  Smile

I don't have any pictures, but I will try and see if I can take some while I have a DVD running.  I built a room in the basement for watching movies and a place for me to have music practice for our acoustic band.  I built a double wide door to block the furnace area and I use that for my roller setup.  I can also put the trainer in the same place, I just don't like the trainer compared to rollers.

Store room/work room/torture chamber

I thought the chamber that blocked the dog's water bowl was clautrophobic - but this one is equally cramped...I am in awe of you all being able to tough it out!

(And PirateGirl - I think you could have a career as an organizer...that's an awesome set up)

This room is right on the major bike route in town so I can almost pretend I'm riding outside... There is a treadmill next to the bike and my son has a little trampoline in there too. We have a spin bike and and a weight machine upstairs in the bedroom. Not exactly relaxing decor, but who needs to relax?

OK I hope this works, I had to fiddle with the photo to get it small enough to put on here.

This room is right on the major bike routes in our town so it's almost like being outside. Treadmill next to bike, DVD player visible from both. Upstairs in the bedroom is a spin bike and weight machine (not exactly relaxing, but who needs to relax?)
