Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, I'm thoroughly f*cking confused. I thought the MIB couldn't die, yet he's Adam of Adam & Eve? And why is him leaving the island so bad? How did the lady know these babies were important enough to kill the mom? This episode didn't answer much to me, maybe I just didn't get it. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yeah... this left me quite confused as well. And they still never said the MIB's real name! Argh!! So, all the previous scenes that have already aired, where we see the MIB and Jacob talking on the beach, etc... was that before or after Jacob killed him? I'm assuming after, but how does that work if his body is dead in the cave? And where did their fake mother come from, and why was she given the responsibility of protecting the light? Was she unable to kill herself, and that's why she said, "Thank you" before she died? I like how she said to Claudia something about how it doesn't matter what questions you ask, because the answer will only lead to more questions. Kind of sums up everything about this show. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Interesting show, but yeah leaves alot of questions out there....Who filled up the MIB well thingy with rocks and dirt? His Mom? For 30 years the MIB looked for the golden cave and than it just reappears when Jacob takes him there to off him? Only one show left to bring everything to a close.....I smell an X-Files style movie...... |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think there are 3 hours left...next Tuesday starts the finale with the following Sunday concluding with 2 hours. The episode gave me more questions than answers. The only thing they really summed up were the people in the cave. So, I guess it's no longer Kate/Jack, Kate/Sawyer or Rose/Bernard as Adam and Eve. I was hoping they would reveal MIB's name...hopefully they will reveal that in the end. At least we know who that little kid was in the beginning of this season running around. Anyone notice that was Alison Janney who was playing the mother (fake mom) on the island. She was from West Wing and in Juno. So...Jack, Sawyer and Hurley are the only ones left as candidates to the Island. Anyone suspect that none of them will protect the Island because in the beginning of the season the Island was sunk. If the Island is sunk, than no one will need to protect the Island. My mind is all twisted so far this season...great season...but man it's twisted. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was actually really dissapointed with this episode (although - I LOVE Titus Welliver (actor playing grown MIB) since Deadwood and thought Allison Janey was good as well)...why did they have to go the route of "The light is everything, if it goes out here, it goes out everywhere". Blergh. Talked with the SO about the timing of Jacob and MIB talking on the beach...he thinks MIB on the beach was just a manifestation of MIB...much like Claudia (Jacob and MIB's real mother) was a manifestation to MIB. About the MIB not being able to die - the smoke monster part can't die...but his body can (at least that's what SO says...don't know if I buy it). Edited by itsallrelative_Maine 2010-05-12 7:04 AM |

He wasn't MIB when he killed her, he was just the son. That son was killed being thrown into the light cave by Jacob. That created or freed the smoke monster from the cave. Now, there's a smoke-monster manifested as the son just like the smoke monster now manifests a dead John Locke. The smoke monster cannot kill Jacob or Candidates. ...or, something like that. Disappointed that we were just thrown another 500 questions approaching the end of the show. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Other preguntas... Why was MIB considered her "favorite"? What was the deal with the game? Where have I seen that wine jug before? Did Jacob use it to show Hurley how evil was bottled up? Who eventually built the wheel? Since the wheel was built, one could argue Jacob did a terrible job as protector? |

Just showing the visual pitting white vs. black, just like Jacob has blond hair and MIB has dark hair. |

Just showing the visual pitting white vs. black, just like Jacob has blond hair and MIB has dark hair. And the clothes, and even the towel that the newborns were wrapped in. Always black and white |

Just showing the visual pitting white vs. black, just like Jacob has blond hair and MIB has dark hair. Well, I caught all that, I just meant more in terms of "why did fake-mom leave it for Jacob" instead of just giving it to him? |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Anyone else feel like this episode was tacked on? Like "oh no, we only have a few hours left to wrap everying up, better do an 'origin' episode." The whole epp just annoyed me. They tried to psudo-answer questions without actually answering them. Q: What is the island? A: It's the place where the light resides. Q: Who/what is the MIB/Smoke Monster. A: He came out of the light hole. Generally dissapointed in the final season so far, and am preparing myself for a dissapointment of BSG proportions. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This episode immediately goes to the top of my list as the worst LOST episode ever. Sorry. Felt like total filler. And Allison Janey's (fake mom) performance was awful. I expect a lot more from the LOST writers, especially this late in the game. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() but the original MIB when alive as jacob brothers could see dead people, since he saw his mother. I think that might mean something but yea.. I had no clue. they really could have given us this episode in season one or two just to tell about the island and it wouldn't have changed much of the shows afterwards |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm hoping this episode looks better with the remaining hours. Is Nikki and Paulo still considered the worst? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I was not impressed by this episode. So the whole show is about Marcellus Wallace's briefcase? Bleh. It seemed to bring up a whole load of new questions but only really answered one or two. I don't need every single question on the show answered but it's starting to seem like they're only going to answer one or two here and there and let most everything untied. And at this point, it's making me lose interest in getting any answers, starting not to really care since it seems like they aren't going to tell us anyway. How did the donkey wheel get built? Why didn't smokey use it? Why is he bad? How are dead people visible? How does the "light" affect time? Who cares! They aren't going to tell us anyway... Plus maybe I'm a little bitter I'm going to miss the next episode and the finale... ![]() Edited by drewb8 2010-05-12 9:18 AM |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I can't remember exactly what the fake mom told Jacob would happen to him if he went into he cave, but I think that might be the key to MIB going in/smoke monster coming out. Didn't she say he wouldn't die, but he'd change for the worse or something? For now, I'm speculating that the MIB was transformed into the smoke monster by being sent into the cave. Jacob didn't kill him (cause he couldn't). The MIB still exists in a new form (than can still appear as his old form when he chooses due to his ability to mimic the appearance of dead people in his vicinity - a'la Flocke). MIB's lifeless body is just a byproduct of the transformation, an empty shell no longer needed. Annoying that Eve was a character that we didn't know existed till the very episode they reveal who Adam and Eve are. |

Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste I've been around for a long, long year Stole many a man's soul and faith And I was 'round when Jesus Christ Had his moment of doubt and pain Made damn sure that Pilate Washed his hands and sealed his fate Pleased to meet you Hope you guess my name But what's puzzling you Is the nature of my game In all seriousness, this whole thing appears to be boiling down to good vs evil ... but I think that there might be a twist, whereby good needs evil just as light needs darkness in order to manifest. Okay, had a long ride this weekend and worked out the following theory: the magnetism prevelent on the island, in the end, will be the illustration of how two opposing forces need each other in order to exist ... and that the object caught in the middle between the two forces is humanity (and by virtue of that free will). If one or the other (good or evil) were to vanish then life as we know it would cease to exist as it would no longer be suspended between the two. The free will aspect of humanity/life is such that you can choose all that you want to ... just so that you do not upset the balanced tension between good and evil? |
