The "Team" threads were getting long and some people were having trouble loading them, so I'm posting the results here in a new thread. I'm sure some people haven't finished logging their miles, so I'll update as needed, though I doubt any of that will have a significant effect on the final results.

Congrats to everyone who participated and improved their cycling as a result.

Wow, 72 of us combined did over 18,000 miles of riding and the average per rider was more than 250 miles! When you figure we are also swimming and running AND leading (sorta) normal lives, that's damn impressive! Congrats to everyone who paricipated, each one of you is a class act! Thanks bear for doing all the grunt work with the spreadsheet too!

As a newbie biker, I am so glad I found this site.  The challenge helped me improve a LOT.  110-miles is my personal record (since late April, when I first got my bike).  It makes my training much easier to have some goal to look forward to.

Thanks everyone, keeping me motivated.  Special thanks to Renee and the Bear who keep tract of the mileage.  The month of June prepares me well for my first tri, which will be exactly a month away.

I think any charity is a good charity.

However, I vote for Aplastic Anemia not only because my wife is stricken with the disease but because:

  1. it's such a rare disease (2-3 out of a million people) that these people have VERY little resources (no Lance Armstrongs or Team in Training) to help them raise money to find a cure
  2. there has been INCREDIBLE progress towards a cure since 1983; reducing the mortality rate from 80% in 1983 down to 30% today ! !
  3. finding a cure is not a priority for pharmaceutical companies or research universities

People with rare diseases NEED OUR HELP !
