Last time I saw a football game was about 35 years ago (Miami Dolphins against some other team, I imagine). I have no interest in seeing the superbowl, would not notice if it were canceled, and seriously can't really see what the fuss is all about.

However, I am will to acknowledge that someone who, for some unforeseen reason, actually likes the game may have a different take on this.

The older i get the less interest i have in professional sporting events....I will watch the game if nothing else is going on, and if the Miami Dolphin ever make it back, and thats a big IF, then it would be the first and only time that i would attempt going to one.....

Saw that.  Totally true.  Men do look more forward to the bowl.  Who's playing again?

Substitute the Kona coverage for Superbowl and then you'll have a sporting event I get exicited about. But the Superbowl, the World Series, whatever they call the last basketball game of the year, meh.

I only love the super bowl when the Cowboys are in it.

So I've not really enjoyed it since I could only afford one pair of goggles.

The commercials are always fun, though.

I'm not even sure what sport's season it is, much less when the superbowl is or who is playing.

Don't much care, either.

As a diclaimer, let me say that I love football in general.  College more than pro, but I'm a Lions fan, so I haven't had a lot to get excited about in my lifetime.  (I'm 33)

Here's why I get excited about the super bowl:  Its a great excuse to have or go to a party with food that is completely unhealthy for you and socialize with people with all levels of interest and knowledge in the sport.  It has something for everyone, a sport that leaves ample time for socializing between plays, plenty of instant replays if you miss something, arguably the best-produced commercials of the year which can be pretty entertaining in and of themselves. Its just a good excuse to get a bunch of friends together in my eyes.  Now if they'd only move it to Saturday at 6:10pm instead of Sunday....

Let me be the first (apparently) to state I very much enjoy watching football and I will most definitely be watching the Super Bowl, just as I have for many, many years. For me, football is the greatest team sport going and I will watch it played on almost any level; pee wee, high school, all divisions of college, and pro. I will not watch lingerie football.

Now, ask about soccer and I'll have the same response many here have had; I don't care.

ETA -  just saw madcap, so I wasn't the first, but... I'd rather watch at home than a party. If there is a party, make sure there is a room where people can actually sit and watch the game without kids running in front of the TV, or people asking inane questions. Set up another TV for that

I thought it was because of the Dallas Cowboys CHEERLEADERS?

There is one question I have about this years Super Bowl.  Neither team has regular cheerleaders (yes, I know GB imports local college cheerleaders), but will the game at the "Jerry Jones Ego Palace" still have the cage dancers going that they had all season?!?  C'mon people! This is important!

We're having a party and have 2 adequate size HD TVs with seating...it's an interesting mix of people attending; hopefully they self-sort!!

Just chiming in to agree x1000! Exactly the reason why I am not watching the game at any of the three home parties to which I was invited.

the Super Bowl than their anniversary.

And quite a few women too, I suspect, including me! (I'm divorced now, but this was true when I was married as well...hmmm...perhaps I should ponder a possible correlation... )

We never do anything special for our wedding anniversary and my husband loves watching football. We are having the party this year as we are the only house out our friends that actually has power right now! Guess that means I'll have to make all the food too.

That should keep everyone away........

Dropping the kids off at a Youth Group Super Bowl Party, wife is going to her families, and I am going riding on my Mukluk.

I hope all of WNY is tuned into the game so I don't have to share the trails with anyone else!

Last time I paid attention to the game my beloved Broncos were crowned back-to-back champions.  Since then they have blown so I don't bother.  When they return I shall watch.  Until then I shall ride!

This sounds like the best SB Sunday possible. May the trails be clear and the fun level be very high.

P.S. Football is dum(b).

Never been interested in "those" pro sports as I was always a swimmer and "those" guys got all the attention from the girls.

Besides now that I have the Univeral Sports station, it is loaded with swimming, cycling, triathlons, track and field, ski jumping, bob sleding, skeleton, and oh yeah ice dancing too
