Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Every year football season gets me up in the lbs from tailgating and the partiying. So now I watch the biggest loser and weigh in every Tuesday to get me back to controlling my weight. Anyone else watching the new season tonight?

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Count me in on watching it. I think the show is struggling to find a replacement for Jillian. Let's see what happens this season. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I will be watching. It is the only show on television that I purposely make it a point to watch as it airs each week. My son and I love this show. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I’ll be watching as well. I’ve seen a couple of previews over the last few days—looks interesting. What I’m wondering is, when did they decide to go to the two-trainer format for this season? Do you think they had originally planned to stick to the three- trainer format and then, when things didn’t work out with Ana, they decided at the last minute to scrap the three-trainer format and go back to two? Or do you think they decided early last season that she wasn’t going to work out and planned all along to eliminate the third trainer for this season? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The Biggest Loser is the reason I started running--I always wanted to run a marathon, but never thought I could do it. Saw the contestants doing it while they still carried a lot of weight, so figured I could, even with bad knees and ankles... and I did. I miss Jillian though ![]() |

Dolvett seemed to fit in pretty well and I think he'll be a keeper, but I can't imagine that they'll go forward long-term without a female trainer. BTW, was anybody else waiting all last season for Dolvett and John to recreate the "Officer and a Gentleman" garden hose/pushups scene? "I got noplace else to go..." |

![]() | ![]() If I can instruct my husband how to program the DVR I will see it! I will be on the road, so hopefully he takes the instructions well. I'm very glad they kept Dolvett. I really like the guy. Plus the new format of everyone for themselves should be interesting. No teams or groups, right? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ill be watching tonight and cant wait! this show is pretty inspirational and I always get excited for a new season. I am glad they brought back Dolvette, I think he is a good trainer. Anyone know if Jillian will ever return? I also think they will need a good female trainer eventually. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() It's the only show we work on network television each week. I'm glad they kept Dolvett and glad that Anna is gone. It should be a fun new season. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'll definitely be watching. I like Dolvett so I'm glad he's sticking around, but I have to agree with the others who think they will need a good female trainer at some point. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My wife and I will be watching. We've been regulars for years and we are watching previous seasons on NetFlix. We still find the show motivating and sometime convicting. I miss Jillian and cannot imagine that they won't find a female trainer for next season. Just make sure she's presented as a real trainer and not just eye candy. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I didn't realize the new season was starting so soon. Then again, we watched the finale episode 2 or 3 weeks after it aired, because life got crazy there for a while. We'll definitely be watching it! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I will be watching it too--as it does help me motivationally... I liked Dolvett last season and I am glad they kept him, and I also miss Jillian--but now that she is on "The Doctors", I doubt she'll ever be back. If they did manage to get her back and then keep all 3 of them as is, I would be thrilled! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thoughts on last nights episode??? |
![]() ![]() |
Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Pretty good first episode. Though, I question the decision to let them do a 40 yard SPRINT. Out of shape people should NOT be sprinting. That's how they get hurt! I noticed that they had all their ankles taped up, but still. I find the first workout and all the hurling a bit interesting. One could make the connection that we truly ARE poisoning our bodies with the crap we put in them and this first workout is almost like the bodies trying to reject the poison that's been put in them. Even though the workouts stay intense the whole time you really don't see nearly so much puking, etc. going on later in the season...when they aren't poisoning their bodies anymore. Just a thought. Low numbers for week 1. I wonder if this one legitimately WAS a week (where as in previous seasons "week 1" is more like 2 weeks). And why were the numbers so low on Bob's "younger" team? I'm glad they are not doing partners. I never liked that format. I really don't understand why that guy wanted to go home on Day 1. Dude, you have NINE (almost TEN) children. $250,000 would send at least 2-5 of them to college!!!!! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I think this is what I heard... At the beginning when confronted with the 40-yard sprint (yea, I agree with the above - a sprint doesn't seem the best idea), the one Dad (grey team?) said of his son: "He doesn't do well running long distances like that." And I thought, dude... it's 40 yards. 120 feet. I don't think that qualifies as a "long" distance. But - overall - I thought this was a better start to the season than last year. I like that there are no absolutely huge people on the show. I like that the broke up the partners. I wish Jillian were still on, but I like Dolvett and Bob well enough. I don't know that I was ready for yet another season, but, bring it on! |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I watched last night and liked it, but unfortunately, I'm not sure how well I will be able to keep up with it since tax season is upon us and I work Tuesday nights at a volunteer site (yeah, we're backwoods with now DVR, etc.) Something that was an eye opener for me was the former athletes. Yes, I know there have been former athletes in the past, but these were female which was really relatable to me, even though I'm a 'for fun' athlete (if you even consider me an athlete rather than a hobbyist). What stood out to me was the one saying that she used to have everything planned for her...her workouts, nutrition, etc. and then having to stand on your own afterwards was hard. That, and I think the women reached goals (or got injured) and that was that. I myslef have struggled to get into a routine after reaching some big goals such as Ironman, Double IM, Triple IM, 100 mile run, etc. I achieved what I set out to do (with a coach telling me what to do and a nutritionist telling me what to eat) and now there is a feeling of 'what do I do now?' Especially since I am no longer single, starting a family, etc. It's hard to find a good routine 'for fun' without those big goals at the end of the road and I think that a lot of former athletes fall into that trap and wind up overweight, etc. Anyway, just kind of woke me up, that just because I may not be competing in the big stuff anymore, doesn't mean I shouldn't be striving for good health! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I dug the first episode and you were spot on about the pops with the pulled hammy telling the camera his son wasn't much for running distance. Didn't look like dad was either. And I have a really hard time taking Bob seriously with that Hitler-esque haircut. I'm rooting for the former pro wrestler just bc that situation would just be awful to deal with. |

Wowsers.... Kim was quite the wrestler from what I can see.... Santa and his wife seem a bit 'different.' Like the brothers in blue. Green brother and sister seem like whiners. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() When that dad made the comment about "running long distances" in regard to running 40 yards, I told my wife, "That's only like halfway through Wal-Mart." I'm really enjoying the true competition between Bob & Dolvett - you can tell that they're both out to win the thing and that they're serious competitors, something that I think has been absent (or maybe not as demonstrated in the final production) from the show up until now. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I thought the same thing about the sprint. You have a bunch of overweight, out of shape people doing a sprint with (apparently) no warm up. I'm surprised only one person pulled a muscle. I liked the idea of splitting up the partners, since they really do have to be there for themselves. Of course, it leads to the question of why they bothered bringing in pairs to begin with. How about a pool? Post your picks for the 5 contestants who will make it to makeover week this season. I'll really go out on a limb and predict the order of elimination from each team! Red: Nancy, Kim S., Conda, Mark, Lauren, Mike, and Roy, leaving Kim N. and Buddy for makeovers. Black: Gail, Megan, Jeremy, Christine, and Chism, leaving Joe, Emily, and Cassandra for makeovers. We'll see how close I come. What are your picks? |
