Subject: Body Composition Challenge: Swimsuit Edition

This is a challenge for anyone, at any fitness level to take their training to the next level.  Focus on your training, but focus on changing your body.  Not just losing weight....we all say we want to lose 5 pounds more, no matter how much the scale says.  It's about losing body fat.

So, swim, bike, run, strength training and any other cross training you want to do to your hearts content.  Only thing we ask is that you train smart for the limitaions of your own health and current fitness level ......and you take body measurements on a regular basis to watch inches melt away.  Seriously, the scale will only tell you a portion of the picture.  Take measurements.  Get a real body fat measurement from a trainer in your gym (not always an accurate thing, but more accurate than plugging in height/ weight / waist / hip and neck measurements for an online calculator.

We're running the Swimsuit Edition until the end of June....that may be subject to change to run longer though cause those of us who have been part of Body Composition Challenge for a while have been at it since last summer.

Keep your logs current.....and add the folks who sign up as your friends so those with a "friends only" blog can still have the opportunity to be inspired by others in the group.

Go here to sign up.  We will just track weights in the spreadsheet but you still need to track your other stats and photos in your blog.

I'm back in. Thus far all my clinical years have illustrated is that "time is at a relative minimum, and therefore I must optimize my diet". So...here goes. I'm away from home right now so I won't be able to do measurements until Monday. Now off to run in the rain! Off to California tomorrow for some sun!

I am thinking we need to ask Tom, our resident spreadsheet tinkerer to do this

I can work on it, too.  I just wasn't sure how much I could change.

Yes! [high fives and chest bump]

I actually have measurements this time. I lost 6 on the scale overall, but I feel "slimmer", if that makes sense. Still have some fluff to burn off though, that's for sure.

Thanks for starting it again for us, Judi!

I figured out how to change the date on the spreadsheet to June 30th instead of March 31st. It's not calculating anything for the two new people who have signed up though, and I can't seem to figure that out. Tom? Dee? anyone?

I'm in again, too!

I think I did what needed to be done on the spreadsheet to make everything look nice.  Threejs, I think you need to put in a goal weight (or, I inadvertently erased it!).

If we have more new people wanting to join, we'll just have to add a few more rows to that table...

Thanks!  I wasn't sure how all the formulas worked and I didn't want to screw them up.

Also, I realized that 10 pounds was a bit conservative, so I'm shooting for 15.  Now I'm nervous!  But, it only works out to a 500 daily calorie deficit.  I can TOTALLY do that!
