Time's cover article on why we need a new President.  Very good read.  He lays out a lot of good reasons why this man is no longer fit to be our nation's leader.

Why, when reporters write articles based on findings from the Tax Policy Center (which is run by a former Bush staffer) Conservatives complain about ``media bias'' but when a former McCain adviser writes an anti-Obama piece, it's ``a very good read?''

Can you link to the article to which you are referring rather than generalizing "conservatives".  Did you read this article?  What about it was not well written?

I do believe there was a posting this morning that Newsweek is looking for a new Editor.

I'll admit that I thought it was a photoshop at first too when I saw it.  What's that say about the perception of media in the US?

And I agree.  However just because option 2 sucks does not mean we need to stay with option 1.  In a perfect world we need a 3rd party.  But we've beat that to death in COJ.

As I've said before I'm willing to take a chance with Romney than to stick with and know what I'm getting with a second term Obama.

Link to which article? The one that people said has a left-leaning slant? Well pretty much any article that says Obama's healthcare plan is good is considered `media bias' or any article saying Romney's economic package (what we know if it) is garbage is considered `media bias.'

Are you denying that people think the mainstream media has a liberal bias, because if so just google `media bias' and you'll get about 100 pages of articles about how the media has a liberal bias, or studying whether there IS a liberal bias or why there is a liberal bias and so on.

You asked if I thought it was a well-written article? Technically, sure, it had all the ingredients of what a journalist would consider well-written. But I thought it was a very slanted article pointing out only flaws, again, much as this entire election has done. And be honest, do you see conservatives as a whole, in general, as one, on average, whatever you want to call it, saying `That article trashing Mitt Romney's stance on Obamacare was super well-written!'

Personally I liked the article. It was informative. As someone who does NOT vote along party lines blindly as some do I like to actually hear and be able to consider both sides of the issues. But I don't take what he says as gospel. Just like I don't take what the `liberal media' says as gospel, either.

I wanted an example of one of these articles so I could read it and make my own judgement rather than you make it for me.

Not at all.  I feel that most media has a liberal bias.

But I thought it was a very slanted article pointing out only flaws, again, much as this entire election has done. And that was my point.  I thought it brought up a lot of good points to consider.  I found no real factual errors nor was there a lot of "commie-socialist-birther" crap in the article.  No more, no less.

And honestly I'm really giving serious thought about Gary Johnson...

http://www.examiner.com/article/romney-tax-plan-will-result-mitt-ro...

I chose this one of the many because the comments (mostly on facebook) because it gives a pretty left-wing view of life, just like the Newsweek article gives a strongly right-wing view. This is an article about the Tax Policy Center's review of the Romney Tax Plan (which the Romney camp has yet to reveal in full). The comments below it are what I'm talking about -- suddenly the TPC is run by liberals, but when it came out with a pro-Conservative study during the primaries (I think that's when it was) Limbaugh et al called it `non-partisan.'

But anyway, yes, I'm thinking about Gary Johnson too. I'm sick of this campaign, it's so ugly. It's all negatives. If I didn't know better I would think that Obama and Romney are both trying to murder the elderly while liquidating people's bank accounts!

Exactly.  He could have and should have done EVERYTHING he wanted in the first 2 years.  He's a complete failure as a leader.  He can't even get his own party behind him.

And in your list of things he did I stopped reading after the first dozen or so (I've read them all before).  #2 and #4 created two new positions (like we need that).  #1 is a joke and is not being done. #6, what exactly is that except more gov't regulation and committees?

#7 stimulus, not so sure he should be proud of that.

#12 bailed out the auto industry.  That, by some accounts is going bankrupt again.

In fact so far reads like more like a Republic talking points of things he did wrong...

So why are you underwhelmed?  All I saw was links to two blogs...

Of course then he would've been bashed for ramming through his partisan agenda with no bipartisan support and breaking his pledge to try to work with the republicans.  For people who don't like him it's a no-win, just like it is for every politician...

To quote the article..

In his inaugural address, Obama promised “not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.” He promised to “build the roads and bridges, the electric grids, and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.” He promised to “restore science to its rightful place and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost.” And he promised to “transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.”

These are all things that I think are pretty non-partisan.  Things even the right would agree would be good things to do.  He did not do a single one of them.

Had the stimulus plan done what it was claimed it would do: with all those "shovel ready jobs" I would have given him credit for getting the country back on track, at least in that regard.  But so far all it seems to be was a big huge slush fund for government use.

Right, because you think a guy running for President of the US and Vice President would actually be running on the stance that there is "legitimate rape"... Undecided

These guys have stands, they can make comments that come back to haunt them. They talk out one side of their mouth trying to win support from their base, then their rivals pounce... no different that Obama's rivals pouncing when he was recorded saying he is going to bankrupt the coal industry through regulation.

But as a rational human being, do you not have even the most superficial test for BS? This does not even come close to passing the shortest sniff test. Not to mention the President does not have the power to do anything on abortion other than sign a bill passed by the legislature. Nothing has changed on the Supreme court to worry about Roe v Wade. Not only can Congress not make a law, they wouldn't if they could because it is a looser plain and simple. No different that the left not wanting to do anything on gun control.

And as far as your legitimate rape.. is this what you are talking about...

But then we "consider the source" and move on. No way to make everyone happy and certainly not in this divided country. The Republicans most certainly tried to block everything he did, because they could not afford for him to have any success. Again, same thing both parties have done which is put the party ahead of the country. I got so sick of listening to the Dems whine for two years how Bush was not going to let them end the war... then you put your sack on the line and end it for what you think is the good of the country.... but they were too busy saving their butts.

So of course the Rs obstructed everything, just like the Dems will do if the tables are turned... because all the parties care about are the parties. Yet you do not think Obama gets to shoulder some blame for his incompetence. He had no executive leadership when he took office. He has shown that he still does not have it. For all the hope and change he so eloquently inspired through his speeches... he pretty much has delivered none. And he has not even shown that it is turning in his favor, because now his back is against the wall and all he has done is go back to politics 101... smear, distort, attack.

Why should he have another 4 years? (assuming you disagree with the piece)
