This house looks big enough for another family. Can I join, two Engineers should be able to survive. Am I right?

Is it just me or does that look like an on ramp there at the bottom of the picture? I'm thinking that's a zombie highway.

Dangit! That's a good one too because of the height from the water and open space in front of the house in the unlikely event a zombie makes his or her way ashore. All the safe havens I'm finding are beachfront property. Great for a tan, not great for when the undead start walking out of the ocean!

Can zombies climb cliffs like that??

I think the only TRULY safe place is the international space station...  Those undead are pretty determined.  They can walk underwater per House of the Dead.  They can tunnel per Resident Evil.  But I never saw one fly a rocket...

What about a James Cameron style submarine and parked it at the bottom of the mariana trench? Even though they are the undead I am sure their bodies still follow the laws of physics.

Which laws of physics are you refering?

They should be able to walk down there.

You are joking right? I know they could walk but their bodies wont be able to stand the pressure, hence the laws of physics.

No, I'm not joking.  Pressure only effect air/gas pockets.  Gases can be compressed, not liquids.  Since they don't breath, their lungs can fill with water, thus ellimnating the compression effects.  They would be fine.

If you threw a dead body overboard, would it not sink to the bottom of the trench?  What would you expect to happen to it?  Since we are something like 98% water, NOTHING would happen to it.  That's physics.

THAT law of physics was the premise of the Abyss.  Replace the air in your lungs with an oxigen carrying fluid, and you can go down for miles.  Since zombies don't breath, that's not even an issue.

That's an awesome island.  My wife and I have been looking at large acreages in the country and I came across this one in NE a while back.  http://www.premieroutdoorproperties.com/viewlisting.php?returnstate=NE&listingid=226

300 Acre island in the middle of the Missouri River.  Has an air strip and everything.  It's on my list of places to conquer in the event of ZA.

I might rather stay mobile... and armed.  I'll take my old ride, "Gimel", in the zombie apocalypse...

Loaded up with 120mm APAM-MP-T and XM rounds

That APAM stands for Anti Personnel Anti Material.  The XM1028?  Think a 6-inch wide shotgun shell with 1,028 half-inch ball bearings coming at said zombies at almost 6,000 feet or 1,800 meters per second.  Yes, that's over a mile per second.  And yes, it is THAT ugly.

Ergo...  From 4,000 yards out (3,600+ meters)... from over 2 miles away, I could convert about 200 zombies into gazpacho in just over 1.5 seconds with a single trigger-pull.  SPLAT!

Cool

I stand corrected, had to look up at what pressure bone crushed at. Seems you have to almost go another mariana trench down to crush a bone. (which is what I was thinking initially) But thanks for the 'lesson' in physics.

A bit of ANFO will take care of that.

Nothing to add except that I find it awesome that someone is debating how the laws of physics should apply to zombies walking at the bottom of the ocean.

+1 to the above. But, I'd be headed somewhere very very cold. When they freeze, way easier to walk around and do some bidness. Somewhere cold with a Costco to raid though. ;-)

I was thinking that of a bat and a machete.  Let them walk up single file.  I will need some form of sport.

Dont be worried about who has the same idea... Be worried about how many will already be in there. A Walmart distribution center will easily have one to two hundred people working at one time. Imagine trying to kill all those zombies in order to find a safe haven.

That is a nice big island next to an already small population but the problem I see how will you survive there?

I like these islands especially the first because it already has a wind turbine and solar pannels for power.

Can't make the pic show up here for some reason but here is the link.
