Subject: Google Maps captures local park just after a triathlon

I thought this was pretty cool.  I was looking at a park that I took my kids to last week and it appears that the map image was taken after a local race "Beaver Lake Triathlon".  It is cool to see a transition area captured in the maps.

sweet, the street view one had my kids playing out front for several years.  I'm kind of glad they updated that one.  lol

That is Beaver Lake park, http://www.ci.sammamish.wa.us/projects/BeaverLakePark.aspx

Wife and I did that tri this year and in the past. Bike, run and swim around there lots. At one end of the lake there is a huge like house size rock. So you open water swim to the rock and back which is about 1.3 miles so perfect for HIM and IM training swims. The lake does not allow motorized boats and does not have an annoying life guards to yell at you for OWS.

Here's the tri site: http://blt.beaverlake.org/
Very casual race with a short swim, very hilly and hard bike and a longish for a sprint run. 5 years ago wife and I did it as a relay with our then 4 month old daughter. I did the swim and bike, while the wife and kiddo where in the relay transition (little one the stroller) for handoff.
