I am looking at Be Ironfit Competitive or Custom Gold Plan on BT. I hired a coach for my last Ironman and it worked out well. But instead of re-hiring him I think I'm just going to re-do the plan he made for me. Thank goodness I logged EVERY workout on BT! |

Extreme Veteran 725 | Subject: RE: Full Vineman Triathlon : Official Thread That is a good idea. I have been on a team and worked with a coach in the past. I have also self coached and the results are similar. As of now, I am going to do my own thing for Vinman. Less pressure and more fun. :-) |

Extreme Veteran 725 | Subject: RE: Full Vineman Triathlon : Official Thread I used the competitive "Be Iron Fit" plan as a loose guide for my first two ironman races. I liked it and had decent results with it. |

Kind of looking for something different. Found an excel spreadsheet with BeIronFit competitive plan listed eventhough I have the book.Brian |

Veteran 416 | Subject: RE: Full Vineman Triathlon : Official Thread How long have you been doing triathlons (of any distance)? Since June 2008 What number of "140.6" or "Iron-Distance" race is this for you? 4 At registration time, what's your finish goal? Part of me wants to shoot for the moon and try for <13 hours. Kind of hard to compare my fitness next year to what it was last year at my last IM. If I get in for the Western States 100 lottery ran a month before the race, I'll be going for a smiling finish. Any words of wisdom about this race specifically or this distance in general? No one get injured in the "OMG...I just registered for a IM" excitement |

Does a 1.5 hr Indoor Cycling Class called "Rock and Ride" count as an OMG? Tomorrow morning and every Sat. for 4 months. I can double time it on Wednesday evening for some extra dough. |

Money is always good. Ironman's expensive . Personally, the last time I was on a spin bike I actually got BLISTERS on my crotch so never again. Watch out for blisters! |

I've been doing Tri's since 2008 , started with a Sprint, and thought "well that didn't kill me , lets try an Oly, and so on till now What number of "140.6" or "Iron-Distance" race is this for you? This will be my second attempt at a 140.6 . My first was Silverman , I missed the bike cut off, and I've been looking for retribution ever since At registration time, what's your finish goal? Seriously, 1 second faster than cut off Any words of wisdom about this race specifically or this distance in general? I am questioning my own wisdom for wanting to do an Ironman |

Also curious about good hotels to stay at in the area? I'm going to start working with my coach after I run a marathon the first weekend of December. I have a lot of work to do on the bike and in the water, since this has been my "off" year while hubby did his first IM, so I need to get a bit of an early start. I'm afraid I can't be of any help with regard to hotels. We are renting a house with some friends who are doing Barb's Race. |

We are renting a house in Santa Rosa - poke around on vrbo.com if you're interested in going that route. If you have enough people it's a ton more bang for your buck than hotel rooms! |
