Subject: PLEASE tell me where to get jammers that dont turn see through!!

I just noticed that my 3rd pair of swim jammers (for pool sessions) are just about see through in the rear  Surprised. This is not a look I really want to sport.  I've heard that there are some jammers that hold up well to chlorine.  Please tell me where to find them!  I think the kids of the high school swim team would appreciate it most. lol.

Thanks!!!

You need to avoid jammers that are made with spandex or lycra.  That's what stretches and makes them see through.

100% polyester or 50/50 Polyester/PBT is what you want.

Polyster grab bag from swimoutlet.  Or wear a speedo underneath.

From my equipment tracker:

Dolfin 8150C Chloroban Jammers
Usage (72 hours, 109.99 miles)

Checked them yesterday and they still look like brand new.

I get these and will get almost two seasons out of them.  They usually tear or fall apart at the seams before they go "see through".

I get the same spandex/lycra jammers but the solution, at least for me (if you don't mind the baggy feeling) is to get some drag shorts. Get a drag suit and those never fall apart unless they rip. and if they do you got one too tight.

I know this goes against conventional wisdom and advice (as well as the manufacturer's recommendations), but I swim in tri shorts (desoto Carrera).  These are lycra but are very thick, so no worries on the see-through.  I buy 2-3 pair every six months or so for around $48 shipped each, and rotate them.  I've been doing this for about a year and they all look almost new (and I use them as everyday running/compression/biking shorts too).  I do religiously wash them right after I'm done, which obviously you should do for all swim wear.

You are spending $100-$150 every 6 months when you could spend $40 every 3 years?

Well, I have six pair now so I probably don't need anymore for a while.  On top of that, I hate the way swim jammers fit and feel on me.

As said, polyester or PBT suits will do the trick. They never die in chlorine etc.

Avoid lycra if you want long-lasting suits. The PBT suits cost more but they last well over 3x as long. (Probably close to 10x as long, honestly.)

Speedo Endurance is one of the popular brands, but as long as it reads PBT or Polyester (blends are fine of those) and does not have any lycra, you're good for a long time.

So why do they recommend NOT swimming in them?  Sorry, but Im a Newbie to this and I thought we were suppose to swim, bike, run in our Tri-Shorts??

The chlorine is the issue.

They recommend no POOL swim ;-)

A few pool swims won't kill it as long as you rinse it out well after use.  So if you have a tri with a pool swim, use your tri shorts if you want.  But if you plan to train in a pool 3x or more per week...better to not use tri shorts.

Chlorine destroys the fabric that makes the trishorts great. Lycra or whatever does not do well in chlorine. So for me, I have speedo jammers made specifically for pool and they last long time. My Pearl Izumi (very good trishorts) basically melted after a few months in pool. If your pool is saltwater, may be ok.

Yep - I've used a few retired tri tops for swim training. After a few months in the pool they stretched out so large I had to tie them up in a knot in the back and then eventually stop wearing them. Wardrobe malfunctions aside, it was an interesting experiment

I used tri shorts in the pool and after about 7 months you could see right through them. Sadly i didnt notice. It was an akward moment for me and the elderly asian woman in the lane next to me.
