The Good Stuff -- Final Friday (and day) of November edition

* We got to go on an outing with the Guide Dog Puppies on Tuesday at a local mall. These dogs are SO well behaved. I'd love for that to rub off on our dogs.

* The garage door opener is finally up and working. Yes, we can actually get a car in the garage. Renders the rest of the garage virtually unusable, but what are ya gonna do?

* I've almost got all the parts together for the new Surly Cross Check build. Only thing left is wheels and tires. Not a huge hurry, as the frame is still in transit.

* Lisa has almost finished with the Christmas shopping... What a trooper!

Well, i always love this thread so thanks for sharing it! 

So, my main good news is that I got to tell my family this past weekend that we are expecting our first baby! They are over the moon and so excited - i am not sure there is news that you can tell your family that they will be more excited about - first grandchild for my parents.  

And in that vein, I got to get set up with my midwife - and heard the baby's heart beating again. Very cool experience.  It still doesn't seem very real yet ... but also I am doing well and feeling good

I am very fortunate and have two lovely job offers to consider

As for me, since the last time I've written in the good stuff thread...

Tony and I finished IMAZ by crossing the finish line together - it was a truly amazing experience

We then went to Vegas and had a wedding ceremony there with my parents and lots of friends from both Vancouver and Chicago

We got to go into the lawyers' office yesterday and sign my Green Card papers yesterday - they'll be sent into USCIS on Monday.

In my world: I am healthy again.

I can listen to and sing Christmas music without the world thinking me crazy.

Thanks so much everyone!!  hahaha that's what I hear about sleep!  I am tired but I trained for IM all summer so i am not feeling all that much more tired than i did then!

Oh and a week delayed due to the holiday, had a great week with the family in Tucson.

Nothing but a few runs and poolside hanging out for 4 days.

Congratulations!!  It is amazing becoming a parent. Sure, it's tough, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.  My little girl turns 1 in 10 days.  To be fair, sometimes it *still* doesn't feel real and I joke with her and ask when her mommy is coming to get her.  

My surgery to repair my finger (that got into a fight with a table saw) went well, McFuzz did an AMAZING job taking care of me, we had a great visit.  

Nothing as amazing as telling your family your expecting though!  We are technically empty-nesters, but the youngest two and the grandson are here on almost a daily basis.
