Normally I could not care about what Seth Rogan/M Moore says, I find it puzzling that Rogan can make a movie about killing the leader of N. Korea and enjoy all the spoils of the publicity and then compare the movie "American Sniper" to Nazi propaganda. I guess nothing should surprise me anymore and people are entitled to their opinions and to be able to voice their opinions, even the stupid ones! |

I read a few of the comments over the weekend and for the most part these guys are making themselves out to look like idiots. The vast majority of Americans from all political parties recognize our troops as heroes, so heading down this road speaks far more about Hollywood elites than it does Chris Kyle. |

Pro 6838 Tejas | Subject: RE: American Sniper vs Seth Rogan meh, those guys are putzii. I saw the movie and thought it was OK, just not great. I felt they spent too much time explaining how he got to become a sniper. Once his character was developed, the rest of the movie seemed rushed and vague. Not to say I didn't enjoy the first part of the movie as it was very good and definitely gets you hooked to see the ending. Definitely worth seeing and it will probably win some awards. |

Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: American Sniper vs Seth Rogan I didn't like the movie that much. I thought Lone Survivor was much better done. I think part of what I didn't like was the idea that Kyle did so many tours. I think the all volunteer military was/is a mistake. PTSD is a real problem with these guys after 3 and 4 tours.....it's too much war for anybody. We deal with A LOT of men and women who are having real problems. Oh.....as for Moore and Rogan......piles of steaming dog crap, both of them. Edited by Left Brain 2015-01-19 3:31 PM |

I don't pay attention to the political opinions of celebrities, so I may be missing something here. From what I've heard Rogen said American Sniper reminded him of the movie the Nazis were making in Inglorious Basterds. They were making a feature film based on the exploits of a sniper. American Sniper is a feature film based on the exploits of a sniper. How is that comparison out of line? |

"Seth Rogan compares movie about hero Navy Seal to Nazi propaganda" as one web headline I saw read. Really? Does any person with a shred of sense think that's what's happening here? To your point above, he said that the movie about a sniper "kinda reminded" him of another movie about a sniper. To extrapolate some broader anti-american or anti-military sentiment from him as a result of just that one tweet is silly, but it's what we've grown to expect. The media tells people what to think, and they run away screaming bloody murder before they've even thought it through or given the person a chance to explain the context or what he meant. Here's Rogan's follow up tweet: "I just said something "kinda reminded" me of something else. I actually liked American Sniper. It just reminded me of the Tarantino scene." Moore's comment, on the other hand, was obnoxious, but that's what we've grown to expect from him as well. |

Yeah I'm getting the impression few people actually read/heard Rogen's actual comments, but were told to be outraged by their favourite news channel that glibly and disengenously twisted the comment into an "OMG Hollywood elites hate freedom and love terrorists" BS. I'm not sure which is more depressing, what the news has become, or the fact that so many people seem to be sheep. |

Expert 1215 Austin, TX | Subject: RE: American Sniper vs Seth Rogan More Hollywood irony: The wife of the Curb Your Enthusiasm director/writer was being interviewed a few years ago. She bragged about driving her Prius and flipping off Hummer drivers. She was being righteous about this because she was being green by driving a Prius. The interviewer astutely pointed out the interview was being conducted next to her swimming pool which was situated between her 6,000 sf home occupied by two people and her large guest house. |

You talkin to me? Because I did actually read several stories from several websites. Now I will say that I did not hear him say the actual comments. If you were saying something in general, that's cool, but if you were specifically talking about me, then I'm offended!

360 Ottawa, Ontario | Subject: RE: American Sniper vs Seth Rogan Not trying to offend anyone... more just commenting on the population in general. I get how people can get riled up by this type of thing, but it would be nice if the media didn't do their darndest to create stories out of nothing. I think people are still too trusting of the news. Journalists like to decry the rise of "amateur journalism" on the web, but realistically they are their own worst enemy. The news has devolved into politically-biased edutainment. JFord and Leftbrain, not hating on you or anything. I think we're all guilty of falling for questionable journalism. There was a time when there was such a thing as journalistic standards, and I think for many of us its second nature to trust the news. I know several reputable news sources were parrotting that "Nazi propaganda" line. One imagines that Seth Rogen must be pretty frustrated by this whole situation... though maybe he's too high to care. And I think we can all agree that Michael Moore is a . It's a shame because he's done some good work and contributed to public discourse in important ways, but he's said and done so many asinine things, and comes across as such a righteously indignant mouthpiece, that his value as a gadfly is obscured by the noise of his moronic comments. He seems to think that saying the most outrageous things possible is good because it gets him attention, but I think people stopped caring a long time ago. He's now just a caricature, and has rendered himself irrelevant. |

The headline was "Leftists take cheap shots at ‘American Sniper’s real-life hero", and the line that stood out to me was, "But Kyle..., was obscenely slimed by actor Seth Rogen..." HOWEVER, it could be argued (not by me) that Rogen was intentionally comparing Kyle to the sniper in that film, Herr Frederick Zoller, who was, although soft-hearted, still a nazi pr*ck (although Shosanna took care of him in the end!) |

Not to make anyone feel dated, but since I'm still a youngish guy I feel like I should ask if the media always sucked this badly. Is it the growth of the internet that has watered down legit news sources into click bait sensationalism garbage? |
