I'm staring at the lake at the moment.  I'll try to squeeze a little work in between my race watching.

Just watched the start....brought back memories of last year.  I am also officially protesting mother nature.  The announcer said the high today at IMCDA is supposed to be 66 degrees.  This is why I decided to do IMCDA last year...because of the nice, cool temps that would provide a perfect break from the Texas heat.  Only last year, they had a record high of 95 degrees while I was out on the bike course.

Good luck to all our BT IMCDAers!

It may be cooler than last year ... but the water is so rough that they offered participants the ability to a duathlon instead.

Yikes!

Did anyone see the CNN coverage on Scott Rigsby, the guy attempting to be the first double amputee to complete an iron distance race?  He is from Atlanta and an absolutely amazing guy.

Bryan Ogle came in with a 1:16:22,  Paul Goldberger did a 1:24:08, and T in Liberty Lake swam 1:28:41 (His work schedule really played havoc on his training).

Live video is showing the bikers coming around a corner.  Looks very crowded.

I just realized that I could actually see the video using IE, whereas my Fire Fox browser was getting stuck....I thought it was the feed (instead it was operator error....DOH!).

After Scott's performance on his HIM I think he will finish it with time to spare from the 17 mark. He is an amazing guy who I have the utmost respect for.

Its really interesting watching and seeing people come out in waves.  Plus, I can only imagine the market share that Profile Design has on hydration systems.

Hi guys, trying to type...fingers frozen.....it is windy and cooold.   The swim was unbelievable....picture st. a;s two years ago. At the last minute they gave competitors the option of a du iinstead!  Tough as heck.

Saw Doug, adollar, brad, lost viking at the start...boniie in transition. Only saw lost viking and doug come out of the water..very crowded.  Pros were coming out 10+ minutes past expected times....that was the rumor anyway.  DOug was getting out of his wetsuit by 1:40.  He had a pretty long transition, what DOES he do in there?

I already saw him twice on the bike....they go out 7 miles, turn around and hit the hills.  Which are monstrous.  Probably 7 super tough climbs.....at least it's cool, but the wind is tough today.     He looked good, was smiling on his way out of town...I expect him by again at about 12:45.  CUt off is 1:30.

If you guys want some goose bumps, go to leopard8996 blog and follow the link to her story...they brought her up on stage at the athlete's dinner...incredible.

Adollar?  WHat can I say...I think he and trix were separated at birth.  Energetic, non-stop talking trash, and cute as a button.

Brian...the house is amazing.  Thanks.  A spectator's dream...I am four blocks off the bike course...so I get to see Doug 4 x....and right on the run course....again, I get to see folks for 4 passes on the run.

Enjoy friends....it's going to be a doozy....IM conditions all the way.

I'll check in again around 2 or so.

Goddess/Shannon

GO BTers!!!

They said 50 - 100 people opted out of the swim for the Du instead. Then the winds died down after the official swim start.

It's coming ... thanks for asking . I am ready to get the @$#%^ rod out of my shoulder and back to serious training.  Going to be better, faster, stronger for IMFL.

These guys today are having their own weather issues to face today. Luckily our coach told them to be sure to pack for both hot + cold weather ... so our folks had arm warmers packed.  Hard to believe that last year they had folks dopping from heat stroke.
