Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Okay, all you guys out there, waiting with bated breath for the beginning of the challenge. This is it, this is the real deal, the officially official beginning. We are starting today, and this is the REAL beginning of Week 1. Week 0 Stats: Starting Weight: 276.5, Week 0 Weight Loss: 0 Weight Loss Goal for Next Week: Lose at least one #(*& pound! Measurements: Chest: ?? Waist: ?? Hip: ?? Total inches: ??? (I did not have time to do this - I'll try and update my own stats, later on today.) Training Minutes: Swim: 60 Bike: 0 Run: 0 Hmmm... maybe that's the weight loss culprit, I'm blaming my workout issues on my new job which is taking up all of my time - literally. Workout Challenge - OFFICIAL WEEK 1: I am adding a Workout Challenge every week - cause this is supposed to be fun right?? And, sometimes I think we need to remember that we are doing this whole triathlon thing for better health and to feel better generally - sometimes it's good to step out of the box. Week 1 Challenge: Do at least 30 minutes of something you don't normally do. Ideas: Yoga, Pilates, Mtn Biking, Kayacking, play basketball etc. Rules: (a) It has to be something active (watching TV does not count) and (b) something you haven't done in at least 6 months. Now the Best Part - WEEK 1 TRIVIA What should we call our group? Hmmm... I was thinking something like the "Fat Loss Follies" and then we could refer to ourselves as the FLF's (pronounced fluffs) - but I don't know. "Challengers"? That's kinda boring though. Post your ideas, and then I will arbitrarily decide which ones I like best, and we'll have a poll. Do you have pets? Yep - one much loved cat named Nemo. He is very cool. Haven't had a dog for a long time as I don't have enough time to devote to a dog. What's your favorite movie? The Scarlet Pimpernel - an excellent film set around the time of the French Revolution. Sunday, 9/19, will be my first race! I'ts not a Tri, "just" a 5 miler. Swim: 0 - Starting in Oct Bike: 20 miles Run: 14 miles Weight Training: 2 hrs (M/Tu/Th/F) Week 1 Challenge: I have a kayak fishing trip coming up in a couple weeks but, until then, I don't know that I'll be able to work anything else into the schedule. Week 0 Stats: Starting Weight: 137, Week 0 =weight loss 0 Weight Loss Goal for Next Week: 2 pounds Measurements: whispering,here.... Chest: 36" Waist: 33" Hips: 40.5" (ACK!!!!) Training Minutes this coming week -this is a goal for the next 7 days. We'll see how it goes. yoga: 7 hours-ish swim: 1 hour bike: 1 hour run: 90 minutes weight training: 2 hours (this is rehab-ing my shoulder, so I can get back to the swim times that I want.) miscellaneous: 1 step class Workout challenge: Maybe I did my "one new thing" last night. I took a kickboxing class. I'm really trying to come up with fun ways of increasing my aerobic endurance, which is pretty pathetic. I don't think I'll be doing much kickboxing in the future. I'm more of a yoga-doing, figure-skating-watching kind of girl. Taking a class where we pretend to hit and kick things is not fun for me. But now I know. Name for Our Group: Lean Sweep? Flab Fighters? Nope, no pets. Favorite Movie: Hmmmmm.... Pride and Prejudice, perhaps. (See, I like girl-things!) Movie quote: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possesion of a large fortune must be in want of a wife." (Don't worry, it was sarcastic even back when Jane Austen wrote it.) Training Times/Distances-Next weeks goal: Swim: 120 minutes, about 5500 yrds. Bike: 4 hours Run: 12 miles I might be a little ambitious here given that I haven't worked out at all the last two weeks.
