Bye bye Jeep Wrangler, I'm going greener.

The Civic can seat three kids in the back seat.  That's a big deal for me.

I had a CRX I drove for 10 years and an Accord for 2 before I traded it in for my wife's minivan, so yeah, I'm a Honda fan too.

I hear you on the fuel cost but I just can't see myself folding into a small car.  I need/really like the room when I am driving.  I am actually looking at going the green diesel route.  I still have about a year on my lease but I think I am going to get a 4 door dodge diesel truck and slap one of these bad boys on it.

2005 Wrangler Unlimiited (longer wheelbase).  V6.  6cd in dash, upgraded sound, both hard and soft tops.  Chrome grill in front.  Still in great shape just high miles.  All service maintaned at the dealer.

Before you ask, I have no idea what I want for it.  I plan on doing some research this weekend to see what I can get.  If I were you I'd check out the new 4 door Wranglers.  Those are sweet and the way they do the sectional hard top roof it is a lot easier to take on and off than mine.  Mine requires 3 guys to do safely.

I have a Civic and I love love love it -- mostly because it is paid for, and I just can't imagine picking up a car payment again, HOWEVER -- hauling my bike in and out of the back seat? Is getting old. And the soon to join the family Chippy-the-dog is NOT going to love being cramped up front. And if other people want to come along? No way. I am seriously daydreaming about the CRV or a Honda Passport for my next car.

All of this being said ... I fill up the tank once a week (if that), and it costs me about 20 bucks. That's pretty sweet.

Heh. See above. I'm with ya, buddy. No car payment, cheap insurance and cheap gas? I must be out of my mind to think about a new car. But someday I'll have to do it  ...

Getting the bike in the car really isn't that big of a priority for me.  At this point in my life I'll only be doing one or two tris per year and I don't do stand alone cycling events.  I never drive anywhere to ride.  I have prime riding area right from my house.  So I'm good there, a rack will take care of my needs.

Can'tya just get an electric lawn mower or something, and keep the jeep?  That thing is flucking Suhweeeeet.

That being said, I understand.  Just be ready, can you chant $250/month to yourself for the next umpteen years as you get into a car that small? 

You pay $300 a month to park in Omaha???

My 6'5" 300+ lb buddy LOVES his Mini Cooper. Tons of legroom and headroom in that little package. Just sayin'.
