The top-nine women through 82 miles

RACETIME: 05:04

ERIKA CSOMOR (#53) in the lead. The race has split up dramatically now -- the first four are within four minutes, but after that things spread out in a hurry.

Behind Csomor with 30 miles to go we have:
* MICHELLIE JONES (#45) at 10 secs
* TARA NORTON (#47) at 1:55
* HEATHER GOLLNICK (#41) at 3:50
* LINSEY CORBIN (#49) at 8:49
* HILLARY BISCAY (#44) at 8:52
* TAMARA KOZULINA (#55) at 14:14
* TIINA BOMAN (#58) at 15:30
* SIONE JONGSTRA (#63) at 16:42

Rapp still going well ...

RACETIME: 04:57

The man known as Rappstar on Slowtwitch is having a great second Ironman here today. He did his first Ironman in Canada last year, and has now passed Rutger Beke for third here today.

Leading the men through 90 miles is TJ TOLLAKSON (#33). Then we have:
* JAMES BONNEY (#4) at 10 secs
* JORDAN RAPP (#24) at 3:36
* RUTGER BEKE (#1) at 4:22
* RENE GOEHLER (#28) at 6:04
* LEWIS ELLIOT (#5) at 6:57

I knew those two were competitive, but the same split is too funny!

Joe's first bike split is in at just over 15 mph.  The winds are obviously having an effect on everyone.

COME ON STEVE!!!!!

Being as windy as Bryan mentioned, it's gonna put a hurting on bike splits!  Just remember, everyone has to battle it!  So if he continues to put out the same effort he trained for, he should still be in the same place range as others in his AG.

C'mon BTers!!  Keep your head down and push through!!

Just got home from church and checked in to see how everyone is doing. Marcy, I'm so sorry to hear about your asthma attack. You worked hard.

Way to go everyone who is toughing it out. That wind sounds brutal. I hate wind. I think I'm going to go run and then I'll plop back down for a while. Everyone at church thought I was crazy when I said I had to get home to check on the Ironman. Thankfully my husband and son are at soccer games all afternoon - no eye rolling from them as I watch. They just don't get it, do they. I'm getting the IM bug big time. Just need to figure out which one and when.

they don't have any bike splits up yet for overall age groupers but looking at the 25-29 M, Aaron was in about 25-30 out of the water. He should be making up a lot on the bike though.

Is Beke OK?

RACETIME: 05:06

After moving to within 2:30 of the race lead, Rutger Beke is now more than four minutes down from the race leaders.

The defending champ is probably the fastest runner of the leading five, though, so he remains in a great position ... as long as he's not bonking out there.

It sounds like they are going to voice over a HL of the race up to now and then we'll get to see the rest of the bike and all of the marathon live.

Jones stays with Csomor

RACETIME: 05:21

Erika Csomor might have made up a lot of time on Michellie Jones to take the lead here, but she's not riding away from the World Champ.

Through 90 miles the gap is only seven seconds.

Bonney's back in front again!

RACETIME: 05:19

Through 104 miles Bonney and Tollakson continue to lead the way.

So much for our concern about Rutger Beke -- he's right back in the mix riding just a few seconds behind
JAMES BONNEY (#4) is in the lead, followed by:
* TJ TOLLAKSON (#33) at 2 seconds
* JORDAN RAPP (#24) at 2:30
* RUTGER BEKE (#1) at 2:33
* RENE GOEHLER (#28) at 7:20
* LEWIS ELLIOT (#5) at 7:33

    The men with a mile to go on the bike:

    RACETIME: 05:38

    JAMES BONNEY (#4) has opened up some time on Tollakson coming in to T2.

    Behind him are:
    * TJ TOLLAKSON (#33) at 27 seconds
    * JORDAN RAPP (#24) at 1:54
    * RUTGER BEKE (#1) at 6:29
    * LEWIS ELLIOT (#5) at 7:18
    * RENE GOEHLER (#28) at 8:03

    Something seems to have happened to Rutger Beke over the closing miles of the bike, or that split we got earlier was incorrect.

    Women through 90 miles

    RACETIME: 05:33

    ERIKA CSOMOR (#53) has managed to pull away from Michellie Jones. Here are the splits through 90 miles:

    Csomor leads. Behind her are:
    * MICHELLIE JONES (#45) at 57 secs
    * TARA NORTON (#47) at 2:19
    * HEATHER GOLLNICK (#41) at 5:01
    * LINSEY CORBIN (#49) at 10:13
