Plainsman AU - 2009-06-13 2:52 PM Oh, and another thing I learned.  Pace booty don't run 12 minute miles.  Gonna have to get a little faster

You're in the club now!! Good job Barry, You'll get your results from the RD. 11 min miles is where ALL that pace booty is. Remember that for the next one!

Suzy ... your type is the EXACT type that I would curse as you blazed by me on the run, thinking how the he11 does she do that.  Nice job.  You're fast!  Only thing I can say is that I LOOKED fast  Yes, I did have my garmin on for the bike and the run, although I did not set it exactly right, but I think I can figure out what I did if i need to.  Hopefully i will get a call back fom RD.  Just checked the garmin, and my bike avg was 19.1 which included all my T2 and probably 100 yards on the run before I switched it.  Running showed up at almost 12 minute miles, but I had a couple 9 minutes then downhill from there.  Also didn't stop it till minutes after finish, so maybe i can put into computer and see how much time on the end.

Andy ... nice race you put together.  Now I can actually make comment and have an idea of the PAIN that racers go thru to put a race together.  Sounds like we need to get Suzy to be our running coach.

Did you see the male pro's times? The top two guys were seperated by 2 seconds. Must have been acool sprint to the finish.
As well the girl who finished 6th is Janelle Morrsion from Calgary!! She just turned pro. She is a school teacher here. Or I guess was a school teacher now.
5:28 for Steve. Good work...and now Roni...............

gadgetlaw - 2009-06-13 8:52 PM I finished my Sprint this morning.  It was a lot of fun!  My parents ended up driving up to watch too.  It was cool to have them there!  I did ok.  I think I was a couple of minutes faster than last year - not a lot better, but a tiny little bit!  I am waiting for the official results to be posted.  I got so little sleep last night because of the dog (Yes, I love him dearly!!)
that I feel like I have been up for two days.  I am off to bed now, but I will post details tomorrow.

Karen

SSMinnow - 2009-06-13 1:39 PM

I am back from my duathlon and happy to report I was the 2nd female overall and 1st in my AG!  Take away the swim and I am semi competitive!  The bike was a bright spot. I passed so many studs along the way.  Of course, one of them passed me on the last leg of the run, but it was at least eye candy because at that point I was about to pass out .  My ashtma is really becoming an issue.  Gotta figure that out. When my inhaler no longer touches the situation,. it is a problem!

I thought of my Team 4 the entire first leg.  I was going up the biggest frickin' hill, barely breathing with asthma in full swing and I thought I gotta get my game on so I kept going.  Way into Z5!   Post race, my Garmin says 3.0m .  Can I still count this for the contest, but add additional time for missing .1m?  The race was called a 5k!

Well enough jabbering.  I am sending good karma to those still racing!

Suzy

Like totally awesome dudette.

Ok ladies and gents... Thanks for the well wishes out there.  You were all out on the course with me today.  That was the HARDEST 1/2 I have done.  All around swim times were slower.  It was extremely choppy and crowded...  On the bike it downpoured, hailed a bunch (welts on the arms) with some nice headwinds, but a nice flat course, so it was ok... Didn't have the legs on the run.  It was so cold.  Legs were cramping up... I fought through it... PR by 21 minutes, by upset about run, and swim.... VERY HAPPY TO BE DONE!  TOUGH DAY!

More on Monday!  Love to all!

YEAH RONI AND STEVE

The weather sounds awful.  Maybe we should count this as a 3/4 IM instead of a half given what you two put up with yesterday.  Way to persevere!  Rest up and enjoy what you accomplished.

Roni and Steve wowsers you guys are troopers.  I can't believe the weather conditions!  Hail too?! With those conditions you guys should get something better than a finish medal.  Maybe something like armor..  Great job!

This is the second time it has hailed this season when SWBKRUN members were racing. What gives? I think the other mentor groups are behind it! Roni and Steve, I cannot tell you how impressed I am. If you can finish in those conditionsm you can finish anything.

RR is up for me.  Can't wait to read the others tonight!

Off to throw my best friends bridal shower.  I think I am too old to have to go to these anymore.  The good news is I ordered wine for the table! oh and pre cocktails on the terrace beforehand!  It's gotta be noon somewhere, right John?
