My comment was in regards to the Cool for Texas comment. I thought it was funny the other day that we were still warm compared to pretty much anywhere else and my whole ride group was bundled up like it was below freezing (yes, several had broken out their winter riding jackets) There I have to agree. We can be such wimps about the cold, me included. Had people out last weekend with leggings, arm warmers, jackets... and the low that day was lower 60's I believe. In the 60's on a rec ride I will usually start out with at least arm warmers...but I strip quickly. |

I get cold way too easy (there's a reason I live in Texas). Now, on the run, I'm sure I'll be sweating like crazy. I just hope it doesn't get as hot as it did last year. |

I wished I had them when we first started Saturday, but for as super cold as I get (the reason I live in TX), I warm up super quickly when working out so I would have taken them off 5 minutes in. I'm still contemplating getting a pair for this weekend, kind of as security blanket if I'm cold after the swim but I really don't think I'll need them. |

UPS has apparently misplaced my bike, which was shipped to Jack and Adams on 9/22 with a 9/25 ETA. To date bike is MIA. Yes, a tracer is in place, and yes, guys at Jack and Adams are aware of situation. That being said, I depart San Diego early Thursday morning, and arrive in Austin around 1:30 p.m. If by chance my bike does not arrive by Friday, I'd like to have a back up plan, namely one that includes finding a loaner bike. So, in case folks at J&A don't happen to have a loaner for me, this is my call for one. I ride a size 50. If any local kids can be of assistance, let me know. Cheers. |

Amazingly, for those of you that haven't packed, BRING YOUR WETSUIT!!!!! Water was measured at 79 this am. It may well be wetsuit legal. The water temp was 88 the end of last week. I'm shocked, but if it's cool tonight and tomorrow, it may well be below 78 for race day.... YES, I'M SERIOUS...... |
