No, TH3_FRB will just look at the monthly total in your log. But your log does need to be public.

It strikes me that TH3_FRB wil have a nightmare checking through everyone's log. To make things slightly easier can I suggest that everyone adds the person below them in the list of team members to their other blogs to monitor list. That way TH3_FRB should be able to jump from one person to another slightly quicker, without having to jump back and forward all the time.

That's a good idea...go to the control panel for your blog and enter teh user name for the enxt person on yoru list in your blogs to follow. That will also make it easy for you to enter "inspriations" into that person's blog!

Jen

I just saw your blog - you sound like you need some mojo - here is your next swim set: it's quick but it can be tough!

300 wu. 5x50 (sprint 1st 25) - on 20" rest. 4x - 2x50 Z3 (15" rest), 1x100 Z3 (60" rest) then sprint a 50 Z5 (15" rest) - 200 cd.

I hope this helps you get out of the rut!

Mike

Mike, go to the toolbar/control panel for your blog. Under friends is a list of blank fields. Just enter a BT user name, and it will show up on your home blog page. Displaying their avitar is optional.

Thanks guys...I was trying not to think about how I was going to collect up the weekly totals without going out of my mind.  I figured I'd deal with it Monday morning...cause who needs to get right into the work day first thing Monday morning anyway...might as well spend an hour updating the swim challenge

Since no one has replied, and I checked your logs and you haven't added anybody, here ya go:

Go to your Control Panel.
Click on 'Edit your training settings'
On the right hand side there will be a place that you can add names...if you know the name you can type it in, or you can use the ... button to type the name and have it check that you spelled it right or whatever.

Don't forget to click on apply at the bottom or the changes won't be saved!

Okay folks...week 1 is in the books!  The totals have been logged on the web page.  Two of the men don't have anything in their logs...sjhamblin and Metalmasters2k.  The number for this week what you had in your log when I checked it this morning.  DOn't worry if you didn't update it from your morning swim or plan to swim later today.  Your hard work won't get lost...I'll be sure to include it on the next update.

Overall the men are at 23% and the women are at 29%.  BTW...the fact that the women decided to alphabetize their roster made it 500% harder for me to log all of the data since I couldn't just zip down the roster as I scrolled through the thread , hitting everyone in the order that they signed up for the challenge.  THANKS LADIES...I shouldn't have expected anything less

On to week 2!!!

Hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I think there's a problem here. It seems you're picking up everyone's distances in meters no matter if they log them in yards (for example, I logged 5700 yards, but my number in the spreadsheet is 5212). This is fine, but my pledge was in yards, so it doesn't all even out. Does anyone know how bear handled the km/miles problem in the bike challenge?

Oh, and some of the % calculations are off ...

yeap I think that the formulas for the chyck team are off by 2 rows below each member.

I came up with a total of 192,535 meters logged and a 28% covered. I saved the spread sheet just in case.

I don't know if my pool is yards or meters. I won't meet my goal if I'm losing distance in the conversion from meters to yards. I'll check the pool today.

Yep, mine is like that too. I pledged 15,000 yards, which would be 13716 meters. No wonder my percentage looked a bit low!

I assumed that might be the case.  If you made your pledge in yards then you need to make sure that your monthly totals are set to report yards and same goes if you made your pledge in meters.  You do this by changing the "default units preference" in your training settings.  You can enter either in your log (and specify the unit with the drop-down) and it will convert to the proper unit (whatever is default in your settings) for the monthly totals.  Anyone who changes this setting needs to PM me with a link to their log so I can easily update with the revised total for the week.

To make sure everyone understands what to do:  If you made your pledge in yards then make sure your default unit for swimming is set to yards.  If you made your pledge in meters then make sure the default unit for swimming is set to meters.  You can enter either yards of meters in your daily log and it will convert as appropriate for your monthly totals.  If you currently have the default setting correct  then you win a prize.  If you need to change your default setting then PM after you make the change) me so I can update the spreadsheet.

I also fixed a few range issues in the spreadsheet that were causing the math to be incorrect.
