Nice job everyone!

Brad, we are still waiting patiently for your starting pic.  You're being very faithful about your core work, so I'm expecting big things.  Give us a starting point.

LB, maybe Judi has some feta left over from her Greek plate, you know, to go with your whine. You're fooling no one.  You loved every second of it.  You may be a good cop, but you're a terrible liar.

Teejay, you and Comet are making me want to check out these sit ups, though I may just call em GD situps.  Does Crossfit allow modifications?

OK, now I need to go get my core and my run done for the day (stupid challenges), and I am already way too many beers into the evening to be starting either.  Fachmie.

I hope you puke.  Cool

Yeah, I bet.

Sorry to disappoint.  I'm not a puker, unless I'm doing speed work or racing, and I actually haven't done that in years.

I never run an night though, and it was so awesome.  I may just have to start doing that.  So many lightning bugs, and the stars are so bright out here.   Perfect temperature.  It was really beautiful.

Day five down...several kiddie pauses, "Mommy, I want..." and "Mom, make her..."  Almost like being a cat or dog toy, just couldn't get through more than two minutes at a time. Undecided

Is this day 5?  Then I am 5 for 5.  I have taken a before pic, but not sure I want to share.  Gimme a few more days to think on that.  Some of you have cores that I don't think I can ever hope to have...same reason as someone a few pages back--to much extra padding.  (She said as she ate a smokie and drank a beer....)

Missed a day already. BUT it's because I twisted my ankle hella bad on a trail run yesterday and thought that I should just rest. Then my little girl was sick all night. She's better now, but my ankle is still hurty. Will give it a go after work/swim/run/transition practice/packing for race today.

What is the protocol for making up missed days? Doubles?

5 for 5 so far.  Today I start the TdF bike challenge too.  Maybe I should add a "run every day" one, too, and see how quickly my body disintegrates.

Yesterday's was the AbCoaster, incline bench something (I dunno...call 'em crunches??), plank (held it 90 sec), bicycle crunches, and a bunch of hip flexor work.  Definitely feeling the accumulated fatigue.

And that would be Mike in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for posts of the week, and I'd rank them "Math," "French Fries" and "ET TU," respectively.  Dude, how does feel to sweep the post podium?  You are absolutely pure win.  So glad you're here :)

Excellent "before" pic.  The M n M thing might require some explanation on your part.  Not judgin, just want the back story on all that.

As far as the challenges go, I am, in fact, doing the everyday running (30 in 30, but I plan to keep going, especially now that I'm ahead of that pu$$y LB), TdF, and core challenges.  I fondly refer to it as the "Triple Threat" and if anyone would care to join me, that would be excellent, but only if you can really step up the smack talk and generally witty banter.

Bring it.

Sorry about your suck-streak there :/  Take is easy on that ankle.  Still hurty? Maybe not run and transition practice?  Maybe rest, and do some mental transition practice?

OK, now that the nice oh-I'm-all-concerned-about-your-health-and-pushing-too-hard-BS is out of the way, yes, doubles will do it :)

But maybe wait on the doubles until after race day?

10 pushups

10 squats

I wanted to puke on the last set.

Crossfit is all about scaling when needed!!!  Work up to things!

This is the full extension of the sit up I did today.  Fingers to ground and then back up to touch the toes!  Owie.  (that is not me

OMG that looks tough!!

It does look challenging, but the stretch looks like it would feel great.  In pilates, there are some pieces that get you nice and stretched out like that--arc barrel, chair and reformer are lovely little torture devices. Spring loaded resistance work with ankle and hand straps on a sliding leather platform anyone?

Teejay, in my defense, I know that Crossfit is cool with modifications--they'd have to be, right?  I mean, some of the chit I see you CFers doin, you can't just walk off the street and do, regardless of your prior fitness, you nuts;)  I was trying to make a joke about modifying the name from GHD to GD;)  Tee hee.

Me likey Judi ^.  Strong work.

Here's my core challenge exercise of the day:

In push-up position draw your right knee up to your right elbow and hold for 10 seconds, then take the right knee over to the left elbow and hold for 10.  If you can, go directly into the same thing with the left leg.  Keep the navel drawn tow toward the spine throughout, and the butt down.  Enjoy!

I need a ruling from the judges on this. I skipped yesterday, due to unforeseen circumstances that involved:

  • Beer with friends after work
  • Dinner out with wife after beer
  • More beer and music with friends after dinner
  • Electricity outage during beer and music

I am doubling up today to atone for my sins. Am I still on pace?

Hi everyone. I finally got around to reading this thread. Im in on this challenge and am good for day 4 of 4. I am following the workout posted earlier in this thread, the one with the snimated pics. Not feeling too bad at the moment. There has not been enough tubby tummy pics by the men, I would be happy with the torso of the guys that have posted sovfar. This was taken this morning about five minutes after getting out of bed, so I still have pillow marks on me. Cheers, Darren.

Edit. Sorry, pic too big, must be all the blubber. I'm on phone, so can't access full site, nut if someone wants to copy and paste from this link. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151668172939020&l=7aa9be9d...

LOL I'm doing the TdF, this one, and the Guppies Revenge on SlowTwitch. I think Dan is going to kill us in the pool over the next two months. Yikes.

Doubles are fine, but if you double you absolutely don't get to curse me the next day getting out of bed--it's all on you, man.
