There is no direct upgrade/migration path; it is a clean install... but after your initial adjustment period I think that you'll find Win7 to be FAR superior in just about every way.   Granted, I made the switch a long time ago, but there is absolutely nothing about XP that I miss.

I run 7 at home and XP still at work.  Hate it now.  7 is pretty nice.  I still haven't gotten my feet wet with 8.

Well, when I get really tired or stress/eye strain.  Sometimes is sneaks back.  I sort of thought in the last month I have been feeling it happen a lot.  Saw a couple pictures and one eye was doing it's own thing.  SUPER embarrassing and I felt self conscious this last month talking to people in case it might happen (even though my wife said she never noticed).

Went to the eye doc yesterday and talked about it and got my eyes check.  Turns out it's sort of in my head.  I have super hero vision in my left (20/10 - 20/15) and my right eye (the drifter) is 20/25.  So my brain tends to rely on my eagle eye when fatigued.

Their suggestion?  Get more rest!  Also do some eye exercises like use only my right eye while watching TV or playing video games.

Seriously, three of the best cures EVER!  Games, TV, and rest.  "Sorry hon, I have to play madden 14 tonight for 2 hours then take a nap.  Doctors orders".

Very cool Hawk!  er umm.. half-Hawk

XP on work PC, 7 on Work laptop and at home, 8 on my daughter's new laptop.  It took a while but she likes it now.  Her laptop is touch screen or touch pad or mouse so there are a lot of cool ways to screw things up.

Been doing interview prep all day today. Face deep in annual reports, balance sheets and cash flow statements. I actually really enjoyed thinking about a difficult topic to reach an evidence based conclusion!

Another interesting story of customer service (or lack of?)...  I know, probably boring to you.  Very abbreviated version:

Order new golf clubs to arrive 8/9 and get billed when shipped.

8/14 and no clubs, no bill (so not even shipped yet).

email from me 8/14: "what up with my clubs,  yo?"

them on 8/16: "back order, tentative ship on 9/15."

Me 8/18:  "aw fluffernutters/dangnabbit, sort of wanted them for second half of summer.  I probably won't, but COULD I cancel or upgrade my order if I wanted to?"

Them 8/20:  "We sent in your cancellation request."

Me 8/20:  "WAIT!  I asked COULD I, or upgrade, NOT cancel!!!!"

Today - see a box at front desk - my clubs - 10 days late (or 25 days early?)

8/21 email from them:  "Sorry, can't cancel - clubs have shipped."

um REALLY?

Me:  ah forget about it ya id-jets...

I gots'em so I is happy.

Yeah but did you synergize with a cross functional team to leverage a value-added strategic partnership before circling back and taking a stab at low hanging fruit?

That's Friday during my face to face interview. Seriously: I had fun digging through balance sheets and annual reports to contrast 2 companies. I might dig this marketing shyte.

This is the model of the bag; mine had dark green and dark magenta swirls on it. Many designs, many appropriate for office. Super light, super durable, weather-resistant, fits a ton of crap without being bulky like a gym bag.

The bag or the design? As I said, many designs, possibly a hundred or so out there ... I dunno, what do you consider "pretty"? They have plain black and brown and dark grey ones, too, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference from a computer bag.

XP was fun, but a HUGE security risk and would bomb at times.
7 is much better, but watch the UAC (user access control) which will be a hassle if you don't set it appropriately since it is a "security assistance".
8 is a bit confusing to me with it's "simplicity".  I helped set one up on my own time for the first time for someone to earn a little extra cash a few weeks ago, and it was a little confusing at first - Microsoft really changed things and made it hard to find some stuff, like networking.  It took a bit of playing around to set it up.

I'll be getting back into Linux very soon now that I accepted a new position at my job, and will need to relearn that OS.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
