I'll work on a race report for my races, but here's the cliff notes for each one:

20k TT - Rain was light at parts, but not too bad.  Wind was a different story.  Managed to finish 5th among CAT 4's, and would have placed 1st in CAT 5.  I raced as a 4 in the TT to get more points for the team in the local series.

CAT 5 Crit - Holy cow this was awesome!  I did some short sprints out of turns for the first few laps to see who the contenders were.  After I noticed who I pegged as the strongest of the other guys struggled to bridge one of my harder efforts I decided to go for it the next lap.  After I realized my break stuck I basically time trialed it for the remaining 12 minutes of the race and won by over a minute off the front.  It was an awesome experience!

Good job Matt!

My coach put up my workouts onto Training Peaks over night. I'm pretty sure he is trying to kill me...

Why is it that so many coaches seem to have murderous tendencies?

My coach wants me to do 15 min. of foam rolling EVERY DAY.  The workouts are itty bitty but just enough, but that foam rolling - ouch ouch ouch!!!

Catching up too.  2x for everybody above. (I think I've commented on all the others.)  I SO don't want to be at work today.  I had a super long massage yesterday and am sore and sleepy.  I figured it would be better to come to work and move around rather than stay at home and be a slug, but I just don't feel like doing anything.  Bleh.

In my case, it's fitting my long workouts in amongst hockey games. Weekend 1: 2 hour bike before a game, them 9 mile run next day. Weekend 2: 2.5 hr bike with last hour moderately hard, then hockey, then 10 mile run with last 3 miles hard on the next day. Weekend 3: 3 hour ride, then hockey, then 11 mile run the next day, last two miles as hard as possible.  During the week, more interval runs. To me it sounds tough but I got through Feb. and I never thought I would, so surely I will survive March, too.  I know his workouts are making me stronger/faster and will continue to do so.  I really am glad I have a coach this year, I just have to gripe a little.

URGH Stacey I didn't see that you were going through that with your pup. We lost our first greyhound to bone cancer - I can tell you from my experience with her (and other greyhound owners) bone cancer didn't swell - and you couldn't see it so I'm hopeful for you too that it's just an infection. Hope she feels better soon!!

In MBC related news I know some of you were waiting to hear about my endoscopy. Well I have the results on paper and it basically says 1. I have a hiatial hernia (although I think most people do to some extent) and 2. there was some food in a pocket in my stomach. When they are in there they take a biopsy as a matter of course (so not unusual). As soon as those results come back I'll speak to the Dr to see what, if anything, we do about it.

He did come talk to me after I woke up but honestly all I remember is "hernia" and "well be in touch" LMAO! I wish he had waited until DH had gotten there :D

No one was headed up to the mountains for the weekend so I went ahead and bought a car so I could go up myself

Many of you have probably seen these pics but I will share anyway. I actually paid for a lift ticket an went snowboarding vs splitboarding which is rare for me (but I lacked a partner and going in the backcountry alone in avy terrain is a huge no no) but a perfect day to do it. Here are some pics:

If you put in a little work and boot up this ridge you have access to a ton of great terrain that has the benefit of avalanche control. Best of both worlds, especially because the majority of resort riders are lazy

This is me along the ridge, it overlooks Mt. Rainier (also note the knee deep pow)

Stacey, so glad the puppy dog will be ok!

Adrienne, nice car - congrats!!

Randiee - glad they've figured out what has caused your discomfort and hope all the tests come back normal.

I can't wait for my boys to get a year or two older so we can start making yearly ski trips. Those are some of the best memories I have of my childhood.

Glad you got some answers about what might be going on.  Hopefully they'll now be able to figure out what to do to get that stupid reflux to go away!  So helpful of the doc to give you a verbal assessment while you were still loopy on drugs.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
