Major BC - 2012-07-01 2:02 PM

Great day for training but a little hot.

Here is a big part of my inspiration.  His name Major and he is a Border Collie = Major BC.  His focus is off the charts when it comes to cathcing a Frisbee.   I wish I had half of it.

Jim,

Major is a-dor-able!

And all this time I thought you were in the Armed Services. Border collies are one of the smartest breed of dog. Great pic, Jim.

I'm with you on that one.  After my "long" run today my legs are just waiting for me to lay down so they cramp all up.  Sleeping should be fun tonight.

TeamAndyBU - 2012-06-29 6:42 PM No training for me today... cleaning up after the tornado that just ripped through town! no one was hurt but trees and power lines down everywhere. time to break out the work gloves and chainsaws!

OMG!!!!!   Glad to hear you got away unscathed...That had to be one helluva frightning experience...Good for you to join the clean up crew...All too often these days we see folks standing aside idly waiting for others do the "dirty work"...

OK - I should be able to get all the tats out in the mail on monday -  I will PM each of you after I go to the post office. And I have more if there are other folks that want them. I will have extras at the swim meet up (I am voting for Friday at 9am, BTW) or I am happy to mail them if you don't think you will be able to make it.

Several of you asked where I had them made - I did not - I just ordered them from the store link up in the top right hand corner of the website. They only sell them in packs of 10, so I just ordered a bunch. I have plenty for anyone that wants one. Here is what they look like:

BT Tattoo

Safe training this weekend - it is hotter-n-ell down here in the south. 105 degrees for our century tomorrow - wheeeeee!

THANK YOU for doing this for us!!  It'll be nice having our own little BT Tri-Club!!!  Hope the knee is feeling better!

I am starting to put my schedule together for the race weekend, and someone mentioned a Friday morning swim which I wanted to put onto my schedule.   Are there further details on this?

thanks, t

???8am start - extra sleep.  Brilliant idea.  Wonder if they will push back the swim cut off for me.  Tank Boy - i`m not that crazy but the way things are going it may end up being that way.  Read an articale about some guy who was a 3 time a week gymmer.  Relativley fit.  He did a crash course and complete IM in about 15hrs.  I am sure he probably destroyed half his body.

Less than 3 weeks.  Getting rather excited.

Saturday my dream of completing the IMLP in 2012 came to a screeching hault...and a very painful one at that.

Mile 28 of the bike at the Tinman 1/2 iron a volunteer handed me a bottle of water that still had the cap on it.  I took about 3 seconds to try and bite it and twist it.  In that amount of time I went down.  Not sure if I squeezed the front brake or if I just jack knifed.  Either way, I'm out.

An ambulance trip to the ER, some nasty road rash, and a broken left clavicle later...my goal is sunk along with my spirit.  I've pretty much cried for the last two days over this and I'm about out of tears at this point.

I have a 2:00 appointment this afternoon to see if I need surgery or not and physical therapy information will follow from that.

Wife and I still plan on coming up, we've already paid for everything so might as well show up.  I'm going to the dinner, picking up my swag bag...everything I can do I'm going to do.  Might as well get my monies worth since I can't get it back.

I will still be part of the group and would like to meet up at the swim Friday morning to meet everyone and encourage you guys if you'll have me.

Jeff - this is terrible, terrible news, but very gad to hear (and see) that you didn't get it worse and will heal up as good as new in time. I do hope you you and the family will still make it to Lake Placid so that we can all meet up. I'll be the first to say it but I am sure others will echo that you have been instrumental in the camaraderie of this group. If nothing else we can keep each other company in the 2013 athlete registration line on Saturday morning.

Don't sweat it, you will only be stronger and faster next year.

You crack me up with your swimming stuff! Maybe it's just because I'm starting out with this tri stuff this year and swimming is my sucky point! I think you should grab a bowl of water and put your face in it to practice breathing techniques, that way you can prepare yourself for the hypoxia.

Jeff... that is awful bro. Sorry to hear. Glad to hear you will be up there though and I wonder if you will be able to sign up on Saturday for next year (if you are choosing to do so). They won't know that you aren't racing this year so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to.

God speed and healthy recovery.

Saturday my dream of completing the IMLP in 2012 came to a screeching hault...and a very painful one at that..

I am so sorry to read this, Jeff!!!

It must be very difficult knowing that it isn't in the cards for this year, but I am thrilled that you are 'relatively' ok. Broken collarbones heal very well, although yours is displaced a lot. When you are scrawny like me, not a Clyde, you don't hurt youself so much when you fall off the bike like I did last week-ha.

If you are still going, I'd LOVE to meet up at the swim. Friday 9am, is the rumor, which I hope will be confirmed soon. Get yourself on the road to recovery.

LP is unfinished business for you but you WILL BE BACK. Don't forget to sign up for 2013 while you are there. With another year of training, you will be a beast!

Those are still sexy legs, but they are less so now, you know-the kind that 'only a wife' can love...
