Veteran 371 Lincoln, Nebraska | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems I've been training by remembering laps, and using the chronograph on my Timex ironman because my Garmin fenix 3 is still on preorder. To top that off, it was too cold to ride my KTM 1190 R for longer than 10min on Friday, so I had to take my wife's Lexus to my hair appt. It was dirty, and the line at the car wash was10min long. THEN I get home, and I see the kids towel drying the car did a half ass job on the wheels. Damnit! |

Pro 6838 Tejas | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems and your stylist should have anticipated your needs and done a house call. You've got some shopping to do. !. New Lexus - 2. New and more considerate/needs sensitive hair stylist - 3. Don't jack around with weather, you need to get a "weather day" Lexus. - 4. You probably shouldn't trust your training to the antiquated electronics in that Timex. Better hit the Rolex dealer on the way home from Lexus and pick up a Daytona. Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems I just ordered a fancy bike travel case (via the informal "bike shop express" service from Taiwan) and it's only currently available in red and blue. II ordered red, but really wanted black so it doesn't show dirt and grease.. (I guess it does match the bike, and red is fast, but does one really want a fast CASE?) Also, I just spent way too much money extending my gym membership for three weeks because I can't deal with not having access to a pool. (School facility set to close sometime in next few weeks, so I'll be without it for at least a week and possibly 2-3.) Not just for training purposes. I'm an FOP swimmer for my AG, six or seven weeks out from next race, and in reality nothing catastrophic's going to happen if I take 2-3 weeks off swimming. But if I'm hot and sore from running/biking, I need my pool! Plus I really like their showers. (I don't always have decent water pressure/hot water at home...Okay, I realize the latter's NOT a first-world problem.) |

Expert 1258 Marin County, California | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems I just ordered a custom made sleeping bag from England. Not only do I have to pay for shipping and insurance to have it sent to the US, but it will take 3-4 weeks to be made and shipped. At which time I will be out of town on a 2 week vacation. And since I will be out of town, it will be held at the post office, which means I will have to drive over there to pick it up. |

Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems That reminds me of when I bought my tri bike last year. It was secondhand (on consignment at a small bike shop) and they couldn't do a credit card transaction. I hadn't brought much extra cash as actually I was just killing time while my cat had minor surgery at the vet's (who takes credit cards). It's way on the other side of town from where I live, so didn't want to make another trip, and a weekend so no bank where I could withdraw USD. So I had to go to an ATM and bring back wads and wads of dong. Even used, a Cervelo P2 is a very goodly pile of dong. (Largest bill is 500,000 dong or not quite $25, but the ATM ran out of those after a few million, and we were down to 100,000 dong notes.) So visualize toting enough $$$$ for a tri bike in $5 bills. It had a kind of Mafioso feel to it. Not exactly a first world problem (the first world would have credit card machines, or at least bigger bills), but buying the bike in the first place should qualify. Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems My kids finally burned through our ceramic fire pit and now they want me to build them one out of stone that's bigger. I can't decide if I want to work that hard or just buy another ceramic one. Once I get through that, I've got to finish putting together an alligator hunting trip that my twin daughters have been pestering me about for 2 years. I'm pretty much down to deciding whether to drive or fly down to Tampa. I don't think I can handle 16 hours in a car with those two. Edited by Left Brain 2015-05-27 2:55 PM |

399 | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems We just got automatic paper towel dispensers at work this week, and the one in the break room is already out of paper towels. We're forced to manually tear off towels from a roll sitting on the counter. Adds 2-3 seconds to my routine! Also - it was extra warm at the gym today while I was working out, so much so that I had to carry a towel with me while I was working out! Oh the humanity! |

Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Gimmie your "best" first world problems ???? I pretty much carry a towel or bandana with me at all times for mopping sweat, including when running errands or walking to work. We're issued towels as we enter the gym, and it's already necessary due to the sweat worked up getting to the gym in the first place. I guess that's a tropical world problem. |
