rnihill - 2010-05-10 6:57 AM I have a long trainer ride on tap for tonight.  I'd try to get outside a bit but it's still breezy here and I need to go home and get some laundry and packing done after work anyway.  My husband's grandfather passed away over the weekend and we will be traveling to Buffalo for his funeral.  I'm going to bring my running shoes but we'll have to see if I can fit it in...

I'm very sorry to hear that.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-10 4:39 AM Well our first standings are in:

Men - 27.9%
Women - 22.3%

And the men hold a very small lead in post padding as well.

Still a long way to go - Keep up the great work both teams and will update standings again next Monday morning.

OK ladies!  We need to step it up a notch!  I want to see some dudes with shaved legs!

On Easter Sunday, a friend of mine crashed on her bike and ended up with surgery and stay in a rehab facility.  I am happy to report that she has taken her first steps with a cane, and has been cleared to get into the pool.  We are going to celebrate with a few minutes of pool running on Wednesday.  I am actually quite interested in pool running as a tool, so this should be interesting.

In other news, I have purchased my first FULL wetsuit and we are planning our maiden voyage at an OWS clinic on Saturday morning.  We missed the first of three sessions due to my feeling under the weather.  I hope the wetsuit doesn't resent me for it.

I had good swim this morning. I took it easy and tried to stay relaxed and had my best swim in months, faster, too (go figure).

KOM - 2010-05-08 7:44 PM Evening Ladies!
I got a swim in today but we had crazy thunderstorms all day and I didn't ride.  Hoping to get a run in tomorrow...maybe a bike too.  All I want for Mother's day is to get my laundry done without one of my daughters butting in with their stuff....on second thought I also want my stuff back.....maybe I should look through their laundry baskets!

I have the same problem! With clothes and makeup! I don't mind them borrowing my stuff but I expect it to be where I put it when I want it! I usually have to ask one of the girls where my.... is! Drives me nuts and they wonder why I get upset!

Great news for your friend! I have done pool running alot with my PF and bad knees, it works it is just boring! So much better with a friend! I might have to resort to it if my hip doesn't get better, I am almost thinking it has turned into an adductor pull. I go to the Dr next Tuesday and will see what he says.

Girls -
We had tornados come through last night and we are luckily ok. One touched down across the street from us but managed to suck its way back up before it decided to just rotate as it went directly over our house. Guess it wasn't our time.

Needless to say workouts are not high on the list right now. Our power is still out and they are estimating it could be the end of the week/next week before we get power back. I am working on base temporarily. So while I could go out and get the workouts in they are predicting more storms through tomorrow at least.

Right now we are just trying to help our friends pick up the pieces. We had tree damage and movement of items  - some weren't so lucky.  We gave up our generator and camper last night so they had a place to stay. They need it more than we do right now.

Bill - if you are looking at this - can I adjust my counts for the month please - mostly it will be running but I want to get out of severe weather and a chance to shower before I start back too much into it.

Sorry team

Stacie

Thanks everyone! We are doing ok - just waiting for power to come on and go through and clean up. Mostly helping friends with whatever they need.

Appreciate the words. We got lucky and it makes you realize just how lucky you are.

Wow--talk about too close for comfort.  I am so glad your family didn't sustain direct impact.  Who cares about the May challenge--get yourself safe & settled.  If I have to bare my legs to the universe, so be it!  Good luck.
